🕑 Added 2024-06-15 05:54:57 +0000 UTC“Oh, shit!”
Nimbly dodging the bat-shaped projectile, Spider-Man glared at the sleek black car that had finally come to a halt.
Only now did Spider-Man get a clear view of the vehicle. Beneath its sleek, black exterior, it exuded a high-tech aura, as if it was entirely made of bulletproof materials. Just looking at it, he could tell it cost a fortune.
“Cool!”
Peter Parker, the Spider-Man from another universe who was still working odd jobs, couldn't help but be drawn to the dazzling car. He was compelled to approach and touch the magnificent machine—no, this was more like a battle tank.
Vroom!
As Spider-Man neared, the car's engine suddenly roared to life. The powerful engine growled, and the tires screeched against the pavement as the car performed a swift, skillful drift, turning to face him.
Bang!
The headlights blazed intensely, aiming directly at Spider-Man. His heightened senses made him instinctively raise his hand to shield his eyes from the sudden glare.
“Seriously, that's just rude!”
Grumbling, Spider-Man adjusted to the bright lights and, through the glare, saw a tall figure stepping out of the impressive vehicle.
Thud, thud, thud!
Special boots hit the ground, producing a sound akin to a heartbeat. The figure approached Spider-Man, the car's lights casting shadows that obscured the figure's features. All he could see was a cool, black battle suit, with a mask that revealed only the lower face and chin, topped by bat-like ears protruding from the head.
Suddenly, a gust of wind lifted the figure's cape, making it billow outwards like the wings of a bat in the moonlight.
“Are you… cosplaying as Batman?”
Having fully adjusted to the glare, Spider-Man looked at the figure descending from the batmobile. The bat emblem on the chest and the overall appearance suggested a Batman cosplay, sparking his curiosity.
“Cosplaying? Hmph! Haven’t you heard my story?”
Bruce Wayne, scrutinizing the sudden appearance of this spandex-clad Spider-Man who reminded him of a certain nuisance, spoke in a low, gravelly voice.
He couldn't believe there was anyone in Gotham who hadn’t heard of him.
“Hey, buddy, you can’t seriously think you’re Batman!”
“This is New York, not Gotham!”
Spider-Man sighed. It seemed this guy was so obsessed with Superman and DC comics that he had completely immersed himself in the role.
...
It's worth mentioning that in this Marvel universe, DC Comics have long been acknowledged.
What's more important is that in this universe, Superman from DC Comics has become a well-known fact witnessed by the world.
Therefore, during the more than half a year since Superman's appearance, DC Comics has become the most popular comic book series in the entire world.
The comic book company has seized this tremendous opportunity, continuously writing more stories centered around Superman.
Of course, due to Superman's actual existence, their portrayal of him is almost entirely positive and depicts him as an invincible figure.
And without a doubt, Superman's fame overshadows a certain comic book character.
However, among the many outstanding characters in the comics, besides Superman, there's another indisputable global superstar.
Batman also counts among the top-tier popular comic book heroes that people pay attention to.
At this moment, Spider-Man undoubtedly regarded the figure before him as an avid Batman enthusiast.
Not only had he completely replicated Batman's attire, but he had even spared no expense in modifying a cool Batmobile.
"New York? Impossible? I should have been in Gotham's streets just catching Bane, right?"
Hearing Spider-Man's words, Batman couldn't help but momentarily think this was some kind of delusional madness.
However, looking at Spider-Man before him, who showed no signs of mental instability and after surveying the surroundings, realized that the scenery was indeed somewhat different from his familiar Gotham City.
Batman finally realized that this might not be the Gotham City he knew!
"Alfred, Alfred, can you hear me?"
Feeling uneasy, Batman couldn't resist attempting to contact Alfred.
"Damn!"
However, despite Batman's repeated calls, he received no response from his butler, Alfred.
This situation finally made Batman realize something was amiss.
"Shit!"
Cursing under his breath, Batman decided to ignore Spider-Man and strode directly towards his Batmobile, preparing to investigate the situation himself.
"Hey, buddy, you just had an accident. It's probably best not to keep driving!"
Watching Batman's sudden change in demeanor, Spider-Man once again approached the cool Batmobile.
Spider-Man instantly pegged this guy as a reckless street racer.
While these street racers weren't common in the New York City area, and because today was Christmas Eve, there weren't many pedestrians on the road.
But that didn't mean these street racers could recklessly tear through the streets.
Batman, anxious to understand the current situation, naturally disregarded Spider-Man's warning and grabbed the car door handle, preparing to enter the Batmobile.
However, Spider-Man, feeling ignored, finally couldn't tolerate Batman's attitude. He raised his hand and shot a strand of webbing at the car door handle, sticking Batman's hand to the vehicle.
"What?"
Seeing his hand suddenly stuck to the Batmobile by a strand of webbing, Batman's pupils constricted beneath his mask.
He slowly turned around and formally stared into the distance at Spider-Man.
"Hey, buddy, you better stay put and wait for the police to take you away."
In Spider-Man's view, he was just subduing a late-night street racer without regard for safety, and he didn't take it seriously.
"Your headlights are way too bright. Not very friendly to other drivers on the road."
Suddenly remembering something, Spider-Man shot two more strands of webbing at the headlights of the Batmobile.
The previously bright headlights dimmed instantly.
"Heh heh, much better this way!"
Spider-Man chuckled and then shot webs at the surrounding buildings, propelling himself into the air with the web strands.
"Damn, what's going on? My Spider-Sense seems to be tingling!"
Suddenly, just as Spider-Man was swinging up, his Spider-Sense warned him of a strong threat.
The next moment, a bat-shaped dart flew through the night sky, accurately hitting the strands of webbing that had ensnared him.
Bang!
"Thankfully, not too embarrassing!"
After somersaulting several times in the air, Spider-Man gracefully landed on one knee, breathing a sigh of relief.
"But this guy seems to be more than just someone cosplaying as Batman!"
However, setting aside his suspicions, Spider-Man couldn't help but look up again at the tall figure who should have been stuck next to the car but was now standing not far from him.
"I think you should stay and explain the situation to me right now!"
Batman stared coldly at Spider-Man and spoke in a low voice.
...
Space, within the space station.
Zi!
Suddenly, a round, blue portal appeared in Reed's laboratory.
In the next moment, Peter stepped out of the portal and immediately asked, "Reed, what's happened? What's the anomaly?"
"Mr. Superman, you're here!"
Reed, busy on a peculiar machine, and Rocket, holding a transparent tablet while observing something, turned upon hearing the voice and looked towards Peter who had just appeared.
"What's going on? Wasn't this machine fine before? How could there suddenly be an anomaly?" Peter nodded and walked briskly towards them, staring at the unique machine in front of him, asking in a deep voice.
This machine, witnessed by Peter himself a month ago, was built by Reed, Rocket, and many scientists together.
It was a special machine capable of exploring, investigating, contacting, and communicating with other diverse universes.
After building this machine, Reed and the others conducted numerous experiments and trials.
And through studying individuals like Magneto from other universes, they finally located the universe where Magneto and Iceman were.
They were waiting for the right moment to open the gate to their original universe through this special machine and completely verify its safety.
Little did they know, before the teleportation plan was fully prepared, an anomaly occurred tonight.
"Mr. Superman, ten minutes ago, our machine suddenly alarmed, indicating a massive influx of multi-universal energy invading our universe."
"But such a thing has never happened before, and ordinary multi-universal energy fluctuations couldn't possibly cause such a huge reaction."
"Unless there's a universe-level reality collision and invasion event, such a massive multi-universal energy fluctuation couldn't occur!"
"Up until now, we haven't been able to figure out the true cause of this anomaly."
"After our emergency checks just now, our device is operating normally, and there doesn't seem to be any anomalies."
"We had no choice but to notify you to come."
Reed was extremely anxious at the moment. If it weren't for his current special condition, his forehead would have been sweating long ago.
"I see..."
Upon hearing Reed's words, Peter nodded and looked at the constantly fluctuating lines on the machine's display screen.
It indicated that the entire universe at this moment was not as calm as they perceived.
Outside the reach of everyone's vision, it seemed that there was energy from other universes, perhaps even realities, continuously invading their universe.
"Rocket, what do you think?"
After a moment of contemplation, Peter then turned his gaze to Rocket, who was continuously watching the tablet beside him, hoping he could provide precise information.
"Yes, I'm almost certain now that it's not a malfunction of our machine..."
Facing Peter's inquiry, Rocket took nearly half a minute to think before finally lifting his head with a firm expression and saying.
"What? If it's not a problem with our machine, could it really be another universe preparing to invade our universe..."
Originally still incredulous, Reed's rebuttal gradually weakened, and he looked at Peter with a shocked expression, meeting Peter's deep gaze.
"Mr. Superman, is this true? Is another universe really preparing to invade ours?"
Not long ago, their universe had experienced a universe invasion event.
During that universe invasion process, if it weren't for Peter, the existence of Superman, their universe reality would have been swallowed up by another universe long ago.
A universe-level invasion and collision were almost suffocating.
If such a huge crisis were to happen again now, perhaps only the invincible Superman standing before them could handle it all.
"Rocket, can you be sure?"
Peter didn't answer Reed but looked at Rocket, who was confident and certain.
"Yes, I'm the smartest being in the universe, and the machine I helped create couldn't possibly malfunction so easily."
Rocket didn't hesitate at all. He was confident in his brain and confident in his invention.
"It seems our universe is indeed facing a new crisis."
Peter's gaze slowly turned to the screen of the machine, looking at the two lines that were constantly pulsing, their frequencies seemingly synchronizing.
He seemed to see beyond the universe, a new universe continuously invading their universe reality, and the two universes were gradually merging together.
...
On the streets of New York City.
Spider-Man lifted his gaze, meeting Batman's cold stare.
The expressions on their faces gradually turned serious.
At this moment, Spider-Man sensed a dangerous aura from Batman that sent shivers through his Spider-Sense.
Meanwhile, Batman saw in Spider-Man a strength and presence far beyond that of an ordinary person.
The entire world seemed to suddenly quiet down at this moment.
Their gazes seemed to spark fireworks in the void between them.
Flap... Whoosh!
Suddenly, from some ancient tall building nearby, a swarm of bats emerged, breaking the tranquility of the moment.
The bats flew into the sky, conveniently blocking the bright moonlight.
In that instant, Batman and Spider-Man almost simultaneously lunged towards each other.
Their fists smashed fiercely towards each other.
Bang!
Accompanied by a thunderous roar echoing through the night sky, their fists collided as if steel was meeting steel.
One of them was instantly knocked back.
"Damn, this guy is strong!"
As Batman was thrown backwards, he experienced firsthand the terrifying strength of Spider-Man, which far surpassed that of an ordinary person. Despite this, his exceptional physical condition allowed him to throw several Batarangs towards the figure chasing him in midair.
Swish, swish, swish...
The sharp sound of blades cutting through the air echoed in Spider-Man's ears.
Sensing the danger through his Spider-Sense, Spider-Man executed countless difficult maneuvers that ordinary people could hardly achieve to dodge the incoming Batarangs.
Finally, he somersaulted in midair to evade the last Batarang.
However, before Spider-Man could land, his Spider-Sense warned him again.
In the next moment, the figure that had been thrown away had already turned around and was charging back towards him.
Moreover, a faint light seemed to shimmer above the clenched fist of that figure.
At the same time, the last Batarang that Peter had just dodged suddenly exploded!
Boom!
...
