[Superman] Chapter 140: Ego: I'm Splitting Apart!
🕑 Added 2024-06-02 05:53:44 +0000 UTCEndless thunder raged across the planet's skies.
Blinding lightning, carrying destructive power, crackled relentlessly on the planet's surface.
Crack!
With a surge of lightning, a luxurious building on the planet was instantly reduced to rubble.
Crack!
Another bolt of lightning exploded in the sky, striking a dense ancient tree, reducing it to ash.
Even the lush grass below was scorched black by the violent lightning.
In just a few minutes, the planet's once beautiful and scenic surface had been ravaged beyond recognition.
Even the towering mountains had been leveled by the violent lightning strikes.
And the flat ground was now dotted with deep, bottomless craters.
The entire planet seemed utterly devastated.
However, despite the relentless onslaught of thunder and lightning, the planet still exuded a strong life force.
It was as if the whole planet had come alive.
Brilliant blue energy continuously surged from beneath the surface like molten lava, repairing the storm-ravaged ground.
The energy shot into the sky.
Some of it transformed into blue tentacles that reached into the clouds, churning the thick storm clouds.
Other streams of energy turned into blue whips, lashing out at the two figures in the sky.
"This planet is really tough; I can't believe it hasn't been destroyed yet."
Thor casually swung his axe, severing the tentacles creeping up from the ground, his eyes revealing a hint of surprise.
Though his power couldn't easily destroy a planet, the constant storm he summoned should have drained all life from any normal planet by now.
After all, the thunder he unleashed contained immense destructive force.
"This planet isn't normal; it seems to be a source of some special energy."
Magneto, seemingly covered by an invisible shield, was untouched by the blue energy whips, which were deflected and shattered before reaching him.
"It seems we'll need an immense amount of energy to destroy the entire planet at once; otherwise, it will just keep repairing itself."
Watching the planet below constantly repairing itself, Magneto contemplated and continued.
"Hmph, whatever it is, I'll split it in half with my axe."
Perhaps frustrated by their failure to destroy the planet, Thor's anger began to rise.
He said to Magneto, who was nearby, "Stand back; I don't want to hurt you by mistake."
He then began gathering more power, ignoring the blue tentacles whipping at him.
He raised his battle axe.
A terrifying aura exploded from within him.
Crack!
Instantly, Thor's movements drew all the thunder to him.
The clouds covering the entire planet began to rapidly condense.
In just a moment, they all gathered above Thor's head.
Countless dazzling bolts of lightning crackled within the clouds.
The denser clouds covered the sky, blocking out the sun.
Darkness engulfed the land, and the oppressive gloom was broken only by the lightning around Thor and the flashes within the clouds.
Anyone witnessing this apocalyptic scene would have been terrified.
To shatter the darkness with thunder!
Crack!
With a deafening boom, the thunder in the clouds erupted.
Countless lightning bolts split the sky, converging on Thor's raised battle axe.
At that moment, it seemed as if the entire world was engulfed in thunder.
The countless bolts of lightning illuminated the world like the brightest dawn in the darkest night.
As the lightning converged around Thor, he unleashed an unparalleled surge of energy.
......
"This is the God of Thunder in this world? He's Stronger than our Storm in my universe!"
Under the terrifying thunderous turmoil, even Magneto had to keep his distance from Thor.
Despite this, he could still feel the immense influence on the surrounding magnetic fields amidst the endless thunderous explosions, causing them to become chaotic.
Fortunately, at this point, he had developed his own abilities to the utmost, so this minor situation couldn't truly affect him.
"If that's the case, let him try first. If it doesn't work, then I'll intervene."
Watching Thor exude this incredibly violent and powerful aura, Magneto was also ready to let him continue trying to truly destroy this planet.
Of course, if it still didn't work, he would have to take matters into his own hands.
Boom!
Just as Thor exuded his terrifying aura.
The life planet representing Ego below seemed to also sense Thor's power at this moment.
With a loud explosion, the ground was instantly lifted.
The next moment, from the depths of the earth, a large amount of blue energy suddenly gushed out.
Like a column of blue water rushing into the void towards Thor.
Not only that, as the blue energy surged out, it seemed to be controlled by some force.
Twisting and changing in the void.
Gradually, it turned into a giant palm, spreading out its five fingers, reaching towards Thor in the void.
"Hmph, let me split you open completely!"
At this moment, Thor had already absorbed more than enough thunderous power.
His whole body was covered in dazzling thunderous electric rays, as if even space was about to be torn apart.
He felt the powerful energy coming from below, and without hesitation, faced the giant palm formed from that energy.
Immediately, he gripped the battle axe in his hands tightly.
"Attack!"
Then, with a deafening roar, he directly threw the huge axe in his hand downwards.
Swish swish swish!
Carrying all the thunderous power gathered by Thor, the Stormbreaker axe spun rapidly through the void.
The dazzling lightning seemed to tear through the void.
The axe, enveloped in lightning, slammed onto the blue giant hand soaring into the sky.
Hiss!
Like cutting through cloth, the blue giant hand couldn't stop the axe containing furious power at all.
It was instantly crushed, completely disappearing into the void.
But the axe's momentum remained unabated as it suddenly spun and smashed towards the ground.
Thud!
Once again, a blue energy surged from the ground.
But this time, instead of transforming into a giant hand as before, it formed into a circular barrier.
Like a shield, it enveloped the space above the ground, attempting to stop the falling axe.
Crack!
However, the next moment, as the axe struck the barrier, it shattered like glass hit by a stone, with a loud crash.
Yet the axe continued its descent, slamming into the earth.
Thud!
The sharp blade of the axe hit the ground precisely, causing the entire axe to stand upright on the ground.
However, everything seemed to come to a halt at this moment.
The axe stood on the ground, seemingly causing no damage to the earth.
But if someone were on the other side of the planet, they would see a brilliant light bursting from the depths of the earth, flashing and disappearing in an instant.
...
High above in the sky, within the ship, Youndu and his companions, who had been paying attention to everything, somehow managed to transmit the scene to the screen of their ship, though they didn't know how.
"Could it be... a failure?"
At this moment, as they watched the situation unfold on the ground without causing any damage, their eyes were filled with confusion and doubt.
"No, look at the ground, it seems... to be splitting!"
Suddenly, a voice filled with disbelief rang out, making everyone look at the screen again.
"It's really... splitting?"
Instantly, everyone's eyes widened in shock and disbelief.
On the planet.
The ground struck by the battle axe.
Crack!
An actual crack appeared.
A crack so huge, it traversed the entire interior and surface of the planet!
Boom!
As the crack spread across the entire planet, there was a deafening rumble from beneath the ground.
It was as if the earth itself was crying out in agony.
The entire ground, along the fissure that traversed the planet, suddenly split in half.
"It actually split open?"
At this moment, anyone would be filled with shock.
Even Magneto couldn't help but glance at Thor in the sky, sighing, "This guy's strength may even rival mine from a few years ago."
Though Magneto was very self-assured, at this moment, he couldn't help but admire Thor's power.
Crack!
At this moment, the ground continued to crack along the enormous fissure.
In just a few seconds, the crack transformed into a bottomless abyss.
The entire earth seemed to collapse.
And from a cosmic perspective, one could see that the crack spread across the entire surface of the planet, whether it was the front, the back, or even the center, it was completely pierced through.
One could say that at this moment, this planet had been completely split in two.
"This planet, was it really split open by that guy's axe?"
At this moment, in a spaceship that had recently taken off.
Rocket and Drax, staring incredulously at the planet that had been completely split in two, exclaimed.
"This guy... is so strong."
Even Rocket, who never acknowledged anyone's strength, couldn't help but be amazed at Thor's terrifying power.
Rumble!
The earth continued to tremble, and the two halves of the planet, due to the disrupted gravity, gradually separated.
"How's that? Shouldn't he be completely destroyed now?"
Thor casually summoned back his battle axe, moved to Magneto's side, and said somewhat smugly.
"Unfortunately, it seems not."
However, Magneto glanced at Thor and then looked back at the two halves of the planet separating below, his tone solemn.
"What? Not yet? That's impossible. With my blow just now, I probably shattered the core of this planet!"
Hearing Magneto's words, Thor couldn't believe it.
After all, in his opinion, destroying the core of a planet meant that it would be completely plunged into silence, becoming a dead star.
"This is a life planet, there is no core."
"Even if there is, it's not a core, but Ego's brain."
"Unfortunately, your axe seems to have missed, and didn't hit his head or brain."
Through a special magnetic field, Magneto had sensed that Ego's brain within the split planet was still intact and hadn't been struck.
"How is that possible? I missed his head?"
Thor looked surprised and somewhat unwilling.
Rumble!
Just as the two were discussing.
The planet that had been split in two had already completely cracked open.
However, at the moment of splitting, it once again emitted an even larger blue energy.
Under the rapid spread of the massive blue energy, the rocks and ground of the entire planet were continuously vanishing and being reborn.
Gradually, in less than a minute.
The two halves of the original planet had miraculously transformed back into two complete planets.
And not just one, but two.
"This... is a bit unfair, isn't it?"
At this moment, anyone, looking at this situation, would find it difficult to believe.
You split into one planet, and you have a doppelganger.
"What is going on? Could this planet be immortal?"
Even Thor couldn't help but be filled with shock at this moment, looking at the two identical planets and unsure how to proceed.
"Hahaha! Thanks for your help. In return, let me swallow you up completely!"
Suddenly, the two planets began to shake violently, and under the friction of the rocks, emitted a piercing sound.
"This is impossible, this damn guy, let me hit him a few more times and see if I can kill him!"
Undoubtedly, this was a strong provocation to Thor.
"Forget it, let me handle this."
However, Magneto stopped Thor's idea of continuing to give him a few more blows.
Who knows if this strange life planet will continue to split infinitely.
"You? How will you do it? I can feel that your ability is to control the magnetic field. Do you want to use the power of the magnetic field to control these two planets to collide?"
Thor looked at Magneto curiously.
Although Magneto hadn't made a move just now.
But Thor, who manipulated lightning, could still clearly feel his power, which seemed to be related to controlling the magnetic field.
However, even if his magnetic field could envelop an entire planet.
But it seemed to have little use. After all, affecting the surface of a planet with a magnetic field was fine, but it was extremely difficult to affect the interior of a planet.
"Hmph, you can't imagine the power of controlling the magnetic field!"
"You know, if this power is exerted to the extreme, even the universe can be destroyed!"
Magneto said seriously, and then floated slowly towards the two planets.
Then, slowly extending his hands, palms facing each other in front of him.
Gradually, an ultimate dark spot appeared in the center of his palms.
At the same time, powerful gravity spread out in all directions.
...
