[Genshin Impact] Chapter 177: Spiritual Power
🕑 Added 2024-06-01 19:06:23 +0000 UTCNolan looked at the three racial specialties and immediately ruled out [*Overdrive*].
Though effective, it had side effects, making it less wise compared to the other two options.
[*Healing Blood*] was quite good, essentially turning his blood into a potent healing elixir that could be used on himself and others.
But it wasn’t particularly beneficial for his own needs.
After some thought, he decided on the [Spiritual Tendrils] specialty.
All three specialties could grow stronger with him, which was excellent, but *Spiritual Tendrils* was unique.
It was able to utilize spiritual power that normally had no real feeling at all except that he didn't feel tired easily.
It was equivalent to an additional extraordinary power that was distinct from elemental power.
He already envisioned himself flying on a sword using his Spiritual power!
(T/N: Typical Chinese BS ~Sigh)
Generally speaking, any sentient being has some form of Spiritual power, but there weren't many existences that could do it to the extent of externalizing it.
After becoming an adventurer for so long he hadn't seen anyone use something like spiritual power.
Nolan speculated that certain conditions must be met to project spiritual power, or perhaps one needed to reach a certain level of strength. He might ask a knowledgeable librarian about it.
By the way, see if she had any secret books for training spiritual power or something like that.
The information feedback from the *Spiritual Tendrils* specialty told him that, based on his current mental strength, he could only project invisible tendrils within a one-meter radius, strong enough to bend a spoon.
This was far from his dream of flying on a sword.
But he wasn't in a rush. With normal leveling, his Spiritual power would naturally increase. Even without specific training methods, it wasn’t a big issue.
The only downside would be a slower growth rate.
Nolan looked at the character panel and saw that he still had more than 3,000 Adventure EXP, and decided to use them on the "Anemo Manipulation" skill.
After all, his Elemental Attachment Time was only ten seconds, which was still too little.
Not long after.
After he invested three thousand Adventure EXP into "Anemo Manipulation", his skill level successfully reached Lv.3.
Name: Nolan Walker
Level: Lv.40 (0/4000)
Race: Human
Title: Honorary Knight
Innate Talent: Entangling Affection
Skills: Divine Generation Archery - Arcane Level Technique Lv.1 (1/5000), Anemo Manipulation Lv.3 (1/3000), Concealment Form - Secret Arts Technique Lv.1 (0/1000), Arrow of World's Descent - Secret Arts Lv.1 (1/1000), Royal One-Handed Swordsmanship Lv.10 (Flickering Candlelight, Boundary of Windstill, Charge), Martial Arts Lv.2 (0/200).
Specialties: Descender, Maiden Savior, Monster Slayer, Abundant Life, Gospel of the Sky, North Wind, Spiritual Tendrils
Adventure EXP: 224
The character panel had undergone significant changes, though only two hundred Adventure EXP remained. Nolan sighed, noting how quickly they had been used up.
After reaching level three in Anemo Manipulation, the duration of elemental attachment to weapons extended to five minutes—more than sufficient.
Additionally, Nolan instinctively learned new techniques like Wind Bullets and Wind Blades, which involved shaping the wind element for attacks.
While waiting, he experimented with his newfound wind element techniques. He discovered that Wind Bullets could create craters in the ground, and Wind Blades could slice through seemingly solid rocks, proving to be quite powerful.
The invisible tendrils formed by his Spiritual power were also useful.
For instance, when Fischl wasn’t paying attention, he used them to snatch her black eyepatch, playing a successful prank.
The consequence was a stomp on his foot, which hurt a bit.
Before long, Dr. Livingstone had used her Kamera to photograph all the significant and immovable artifacts in the Sword Cemetery.
"Phew, finally done. Let's head back," Dr. Livingstone said, brushing aside the black hair that hung just above her eyebrows and wiping away some sweat.
"Alright, let's go while it's still early," Nolan agreed with a nod.
As the trio departed, the Forgotten Sword Cemetery, standing at the center of the shallow pond, returned to its usual tranquility.
The only difference was probably that when an adventurer came over in the future, they would see the Forgotten Sword Cemetery without the energy shield sealing it.
Those who visit will be able to tell what happened here.
......
Mondstadt, at the city gates.
The rays of the setting sun caressed Fischl’s left leg, clad in thigh-high black stockings.
Her pale skin took on a golden hue, seemingly more radiant than the sun itself.
"Thank you both for your help these past few days. If there's nothing else, I'll be on my way," Dr. Livingstone said, waving goodbye with her large, fully loaded backpack.
She could barely contain her excitement to share her new findings with her friends in historical research.
"Goodbye, Miss Livingstone," Oz responded, flapping his night-dark wings.
"Then, the Princess shall take her leave as well," said Fischl, her golden hair cascading down her back, as she watched Dr. Livingstone’s retreating figure.
However, she didn't leave right away and turned to look at Nolan as if asking if there was anything else.
Nolan pondered a little, took her hand, and said, "It's almost dinner time now, why don't you come to my place and have a meal before you leave?"
"Hmph... well, since the foolish attendant invited sincerely, this Princess doesn't want to refuse your good intentions."
Fischl replied, her pale face tinged with a slight blush. She tried to gently pull her hand away but failed, ultimately turning her head haughtily to the side with a humph.
Nolan looked at her soft profile and delicate jawline, smiling as he said, "Before that, I want to stop by the blacksmith to ask Master Wagner if he can forge a four-star greatsword."
"Sir Nolan, as far as I know, in order to forge a four-star weapon requires not just the right materials but also a very complex process.. It takes significant time and craftsmanship costs," Oz, the night raven flying beside Fischl, chimed in.
"Therefore, as an Honorary Knight, you could ask the Knights of Favonius craftsmen to forge it for you. Usually, they only charge for materials when working for fellow knights."
Such privileges were exclusive to the members of the Knights of Favonius.
Nolan was aware of this option, but it typically applied to standard four-star weapons like the Favonius Greatsword.
The effect it provided to speed up the recovery of elemental energy was of little use to him for the time being. After all, Nolan hadn't developed his own Elemental Burst yet and couldn't use elemental energy.
Elemental Energy was different from Elemental Force, but it was the soft energy that Elemental Force dispersed during an attack.
It can be absorbed by the body to support the use of high-consumption elemental bursts for Vision bearers.
Without elemental energy, forcibly using an elemental burst is dangerous and could result in self-harm due to overexertion.
So, rather than a currently useless Favonius Greatsword, he preferred a weapon that would boost his attack power.
