[Superman] Chapter 41: You Are the Real Heroes
🕑 Added 2024-01-10 07:40:46 +0000 UTCTimes Square, New York.
Along with the video of Superman versus the Hulk playing on the numerous big screens around them.
In the center of the square, an equally spectacular battle was also unfolding.
Captain America, holding a round Vibranium Shield, was fighting a blonde muscular man wearing splendid armor and wielding a silvery giant hammer.
The two went back and forth, as their shields and hammers kept colliding, while their free hands were clenched into fists, punching relentlessly at each other, almost hitting flesh with every punch.
The terrifying power kept surging, the interplay of hammer and shield also erupted bursts of strong shockwaves from time to time.
The huge force carried by the shockwaves could even easily flip over a car.
The nearby S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, who were very close originally, had now retreated dozens of meters away.
The battle between the two superhumans was simply not something ordinary people like them could participate in.
"Director, do you think Cap can win?"
Coulson's gaze was fixed tightly on the battle in the distance, full of concern for his idol Captain.
"No matter the outcome, we have to prepare early."
Fury's expression was grave as he spoke slowly.
"Gather all the nearby S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel who can make it here, and notify Rumlow to bring his whole special tactics team over."
As the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Fury had to make the worst assumptions now.
After relaying these orders, Fury still seemed to be pondering something hesitantly.
Boom!
As another car was destroyed in the aftermath of the two's battle, Fury finally made up his mind and continued.
"Also notify Barton, have him bring those experiment results here as soon as possible!"
"But Director, those specimens haven't completed testing yet, if they are exposed now, I'm afraid..."
Hearing Fury's decision, Coulson's expression was very solemn as he reminded.
"Can't care about that much anymore, no matter what, we have to deal with this big trouble."
Staring at Captain America, who was already at a disadvantage on the battlefield, Fury's gaze was filled with determination.
...
Indeed, Fury's worries were not excessive.
Not long after his order was issued.
Bang!
Captain America was instantly blasted away by Thor, his whole body flying out dozens of meters, smashing heavily into a car.
The terrifying impact force smashed a dent directly into the armored car, showing the horror of its power.
Captain was also bounced away by the huge reaction force, crashing heavily to the ground.
It turned out that although he had successfully blocked Thor's swinging hammer with his shield just now, he was still somewhat exhausted in the end, and was unable to react in time, getting kicked heavily in the body by Thor.
"Haha! Asgardian warriors are the strongest!"
Without even using his divine power, just his physical strength, Thor had easily defeated Captain America, who was said to be the pinnacle of human ability.
At this moment, Thor held the hammer of Thor high, laughing at the sky.
"Captain!"
The agents around looked at Captain America's defeat, their eyes full of concern.
"Director, let's go fight that guy!"
Some were indignant, preparing to step up and desperately fight Thor.
"Wait..."
However, the excited agents were stopped by Fury.
"Hey, you haven't defeated me yet!"
The next moment, the blasted Captain America was seen slowly and arduously climbing up from the ground.
Wiping the blood flowing from the corner of his mouth, he tightened his grip on the shield in one hand, and walked towards Thor with slow but firm steps.
Coming in front of Thor again, Captain took up a stance to continue fighting: "I can fight you all day."
"Haha, I admire you more and more, you deserve to have me remember your name!"
Looking at Captain America with such a tenacious will, Thor also completely put away the disdain in his eyes.
"My name is Steve Rogers, from Brooklyn."
"I am Thor Odinson, son of Odin the Allfather, from Asgard."
Facing an opponent who had earned his respect, Thor also solemnly introduced himself.
"In our Asgard, going all out is the greatest respect towards an opponent."
"So next, I will use my full strength to thoroughly defeat you!"
Thor's gaze was solemn, at this moment, out of respect for his opponent, he decided to go all out.
"Bring it on!"
Captain America did not back down either, his calm gaze filled with endless will.
An invisible aura erupted from the two.
"Heavens...it seems to have darkened!"
At this moment, the sky was somehow covered by a thick layer of clouds, thunder and lightning surging within, as if brewing a terrible power.
And the next moment, Thor's body slowly lifted off the ground, floating up out of thin air.
Crack!
A thunderclap exploded in the void, and the clouds that had been brewing for a long time finally revealed their terrifying might.
A silver thunderbolt, like a silver dragon shuttling out of the clouds, rumbled down onto Thor's body.
In an instant, strands of silver lightning coiled around Thor.
Holding the hammer of Thor high, he was like a god of destruction at this moment.
"Come, we humans are far stronger than you can imagine."
Facing Thor like a real god of thunder, Captain America did not retreat a single step.
The raised head represented an indomitable spirit, the unwavering gaze filled with endless fighting spirit.
At this time, Thor, who had finally gathered terrible momentum and power, his gaze instantly locked onto Captain America below like an arrow.
The next moment, Thor's body erupted with incredibly formidable momentum, then rushed straight at Captain America below at extreme speed.
The lightning around him formed a long silver trail behind him.
However, just as this terrifying attack was about to land on Captain America waiting sternly below.
Two pillars of light, fiery red-like flames, almost instantly traversed from the distant horizon.
Its extreme speed was such that even Thor could not react at all, being accurately struck right in the body.
The next moment, the powerful impact contained within the beams of light instantly blasted Thor's body away.
The terrifying impact force directly smashed Thor's body through several buildings.
After continuously piercing through several buildings, he finally stopped.
Boom!
But the momentum still did not cease, smashing heavily into a building, bringing down the entire building, the rubble burying Thor's body completely.
"That's...Superman!"
At this moment, including Captain America, everyone's gaze was not drawn to the blasted Thor, but looking towards the majestic figure flying quickly from the distant horizon.
Bang!
In the blink of an eye, that figure had already landed in front of everyone from the distant horizon, even faster than their gaze.
"Hmm, no wonder everyone likes landing like this, it really is cool."
Having personally experienced the superhero landing posture, Peter said, Never mind if the knees hurt, the pose was cool enough.
"So he's the one who wanted to challenge me?"
Looking at the figure buried under the collapsed building, Peter slowly got up and said in a deep voice.
"Director, you really had the foresight, to have us evacuate all residents within a radius of miles beforehand, otherwise..."
Beside Fury, Coulson looked at the buildings pierced through and said with the utmost admiration.
"But I feel like the area we cleared may still not be enough..."
"You are...the human hero above - Superman?"
Seeing the figure land stylishly in front of him, even Captain America couldn't help but hold his breath, pointing to an image on a big screen around them and asking, his tone full of incredulity.
Hearing the voice, Peter slowly turned around, his gaze lingering on Captain America for a moment, before slowly turning towards the people in the distance.
"No, you are the real heroes!"
