[Superman] Chapter 83: The Silence of the Galaxy
🕑 Added 2024-02-25 04:45:49 +0000 UTCA few minutes ago, Peter arrived near the only star in this galaxy.
Looking at a star slightly smaller than the sun but still emitting dazzling light, Peter couldn't gauge how powerful he truly was at the moment.
But facing a real star and inwardly desperate to push it with his hands, Peter felt somewhat uncertain if he could succeed.
However, with the star's energy continuously merging into his body, Peter's confidence grew.
Without hesitation, he used his powerful bio-field as a support point. As he approached the surface of the star, his entire body was engulfed by the violent stellar storm.
Exerting all his strength, he began to push this huge star.
At first, the star hardly moved, as stable as an old dog. Despite Peter's immense power at the moment, in front of a brilliant star, he still appeared incredibly small.
However, his superhuman physique manifested an incredibly terrifying effect at this moment.
As Peter exerted all his strength, his cells became extraordinarily active and excited under the tension of his body.
The light and energy released by the star were continuously integrated into his body.
Gradually, a faint golden light shimmered on Peter's body.
With the infusion of immense energy and terrifying power, Peter seemed to break through some kind of restraint within his body.
Under his skyrocketing power, the huge star began to tremble slightly.
The next moment, it was actually moved by Peter, using only his physical body, slowly shifting.
And from there, everything became easier.
As the star began to move, Peter's power continued to increase, and the speed of movement gradually accelerated.
Until Odin in the distance finally noticed the anomaly of the star.
At this moment, facing the rapidly approaching and oppressive star, even as the former ruler of the Nine Realms, Odin's expression became incredibly solemn.
He certainly had the opportunity to escape.
But as the King of the Gods, the ruler of the Nine Realms, his strong pride did not allow him to choose retreat or evasion at this moment.
Even if it meant death, he would die standing.
The gods would celebrate him, and the ancestors would cheer for him.
"For the glory of the Northern Gods!"
In Odin's star-like single eye, a firm gaze flickered.
At this moment, he hesitated no more and released all his divine power.
The surging Odin Force swept around him, as he slowly lifted the massive Eternal Spear in his hand, countless divine powers gathering at the tip of the spear.
In an instant, an incredibly dazzling light and power burst forth, illuminating the entire night sky of the galaxy like another newly lit star.
In the starry sky, it was as if two golden stars collided rapidly.
At this moment, dozens of small asteroids around Odin had long lost their effect, easily devoured and crushed by the massive power released by the collision of the two stars, turning into dust.
And the two colliding stars erupted with a shining light like supernovae.
...
Boom!
Accompanied by incredibly terrifying turmoil and fluctuations, it almost instantly destroyed the entire galaxy.
The terrifying galactic-level explosion turned into an incredibly intense shock, spreading to surrounding galaxies after sweeping through the entire galaxy.
After who knows how long.
Everything finally settled.
The massive explosion and impact had already destroyed everything in this galaxy.
In the dim universe, apart from the cosmic storms scattered throughout the galaxy and the space fissures torn apart by powerful forces, there were only two figures left.
One figure flickered with a faint golden light, although weak, it was filled with majestic vitality.
While the golden light on the other figure grew increasingly dim, seemingly on the verge of extinction.
The Eternal Spear in Odin's hand had even been broken at the tip.
His battle armor had long lost all its luster and was on the verge of breaking.
"Human, you've won this battle!"
With a weak expression, his battle armor shattered, and his demeanor showing signs of aging, Odin stared at the figure in front of him and finally spoke, admitting defeat.
Even though he didn't lose to Peter just now, but to the collision with a star.
But a loss was a loss. As the King of the Gods, he disdained finding any excuses.
"Get it over with."
Odin closed his eyes, awaiting judgment.
Peter slowly approached Odin, raising his hand slightly.
"Let's go."
"What?"
Odin opened his eyes, somewhat incredulous.
"What's wrong? You're not going to send me back? Do you expect me to fly back on my own?"
"This is hundreds of light-years away from Earth!"
Peter slowly spoke, surprising Odin with his words.
Immediately, Odin hesitated no more. He raised the broken Eternal Spear in his hand slightly, emitting a golden light beam much dimmer than before, enveloping both of their bodies.
The next moment, with the light beam, their bodies disappeared instantly.
...
The events in this galaxy were also monitored by powerful civilizations in the universe and some wandering spacecraft.
They couldn't help but be curious, so they flew over here through multiple space-time jumps.
But as they looked at the starless void before them, the already ruined galaxy, dangerous cosmic storms, and scattered space fissures, their eyes couldn't help but reveal extreme shock.
In their understanding, even a battle between two cosmic-level civilizations would find it difficult to destroy an entire galaxy.
Yet now, what terrible events had occurred here?
As more and more observing spacecraft arrived, some onlookers dubbed this place the Battlefield of the Gods, considering it a great spectacle in the universe.
In their view, perhaps only wars among the gods could cause such terrifying effects.
After a long time.
Buzz!
A strangely shaped but incredibly imposing and massive spacecraft suddenly appeared through a space-time jump.
"Great Lord Thanos, we have arrived."
A tall alien with a height of over two meters knelt down respectfully and reported to the figure sitting on the throne before him, exuding an oppressive aura.
"Indeed, the residue of Odin, that old guy!"
The figure sitting on the floating throne slowly turned around, revealing a purple Titan clad in golden armor, exuding an imposing aura.
"Bring that Asgardian up here."
"Yes, Lord Thanos."
With Thanos's command, a familiar figure was soon brought over.
"I, Loki, the Prince of Asgard, the God of Mischief, pay my respects to the great cosmic overlord, Lord Thanos."
The brought Loki, with a smile and elegance, greeted Thanos respectfully.
"What you said before seems to be true. Odin did indeed go through a great battle and has since passed away."
Thanos, with an indifferent expression, stared at Loki and slowly spoke.
"Nothing can escape the eyes of the great Lord Thanos."
Loki concealed the hint of sadness in his heart, maintaining his smile, and complimented Thanos.
"It seems that it is time for me to fulfill my great plan, full of divinity and kindness."
Stepping down from the throne, Thanos looked at the silent wreckage of the galaxy, his eyes filled with strong determination.
"I swear to follow Lord Thanos to the death!"
Beside him, Thanos's subordinate immediately knelt down, swearing his loyalty.
"I hereby swear to forever follow the great steps of Lord Thanos and be loyal to the Almighty Thanos."
As Thanos turned around slowly, Loki quickly pledged his loyalty.
"In that case, I agree to your proposal. Lead the Chitauri army and conquer Earth to seize the Infinity Stones there."
"But, if you fail, or dare to flee in battle, then you will witness how cruel the methods of the renowned Thanos of the universe truly are."
As Thanos spoke, a strong sense of oppression and a cold breath rushed toward Loki, making him feel a terrifying atmosphere as if death were looming.
"I will never disappoint Lord Thanos!"
Loki answered firmly.
"This is the Mind Stone, possessing the powerful ability to manipulate the consciousness of beings, assisting you in completing the plan to conquer Earth."
Thanos slowly took a scepter shimmering with yellow light from his subordinate and handed it to Loki with solemnity.
"If you have the opportunity, I hope you can bring that human to me and make him loyal to me."
Then, Thanos pondered for a moment and spoke again.
"Yes, Lord Thanos!"
Loki suppressed his inner joy and accepted the Mind Stone solemnly, assuring.
"Go."
Sitting back on his throne, Thanos turned around slowly, leaving behind a figure full of oppression.
Following his words, Loki left, leading the Chitauri fleet, departing from Thanos's flagship.
"My Lord, do you really trust that guy?"
As Loki left, Ebony Maw, a slender figure, spoke slowly, expressing doubts about Loki's loyalty.
"Humph, a cunning guy full of lies. How could I truly trust him?"
Thanos's tone seemed to have never believed in Loki from the beginning to the end.
"But then..."
Ebony Maw felt very surprised.
"He's just a pawn I'm using to test Earth. Even if he fails, it won't disrupt my plan."
"Go, tell Ronan to find the Cosmic Cube as soon as possible."
"Soon, I will personally conquer Earth with unmatched power!"
After finishing speaking, Thanos's throne slowly floated away, disappearing into the darkness.
...
On the other side, Odin had already returned to Earth with Peter.
"Next, go and enjoy your limited time."
Peter glanced at the even older Odin and didn't hesitate much, quickly disappearing in front of Odin.
Odin slowly raised the broken Eternal Spear in his hand, wanting to summon the Bifrost Bridge back to Asgard, but halfway through the action, he suddenly stopped.
"Perhaps, that place is a good place to be my grave."
Giving up on returning to Asgard, Odin gazed into the distance, looking at the place where he first came to Earth and fought the Frost Giants.
It was also the birthplace of Norse mythology, Norway.
The next moment, turning into a golden light, he flew away swiftly.
"Human, truly a strange species."
Odin stood at the edge of the cliff, looking down at the human tribe below.
"Yes, although humans are physically weak, their will is the strongest."
Suddenly, a voice came from behind Odin.
"Hehe, are you here to mock this old man who is about to decay?"
Looking at the yellow-robed monk who emerged from the halo behind him, Odin smiled self-deprecatingly.
"Of course not, just two old guys on the brink of death, reminiscing!"
...
