[Genshin Impact] Chapter 88: The Sin-Purging Arrow That Strikes Down the Beast of the World
🕑 Added 2024-02-21 17:26:59 +0000 UTC"Oh dear~ An adventurer like you saying that really hurts your big sis's heart. Can you bear to see me, your big sis, standing in front of these towering bookshelves, tiptoeing but still unable to reach the top shelves?"
Lisa gently stroked the chestnut-colored hair falling over her left shoulder, her face displaying a deliberate look of sorrow.
"Of course not, I'm happy to be of help to you, Miss Lisa."
Nolan's helpless expression deepened. It seemed he truly had no ability to refuse a girl's request.
"Hehehe~ Then I'll leave it to you." Lisa lightly covered her soft lips with her fingers, an elegant smile spreading across her fair face.
[Lisa Has Developed Good Feelings Towards You, Obtained 60 Affection Points. Current Affection Level Lv. 3 (200/300)]
Well, gaining some affection points wasn't a waste of time after all.
While thinking to himself, Nolan took two books and headed to the first floor of the library. He remembered the combat technique books were on the left shelves against the wall on the first floor.
His shoes made crisp sounds on the stairs. Suddenly, his gaze was drawn to a shadowy figure below.
Looking closer, it was indeed Fischl with her golden long hair, sitting at a square table in the library, absorbed in reading. Umm No, it should be Princess of Verurteilung traversing another world.
Oz, the Night Raven, stood quietly by the backrest of the chair.
Fischl was too immersed in her own world to notice Nolan. Oz glanced at him but did not greet him, only giving a slight nod.
After all, this was a library with other readers present. One couldn't make noise to disturb others.
According to Fischl, doing so would mark one as undesirable in the eyes of the Librarian Witch, and she would close the door of the universe's treasury of knowledge to that person.
This was absolutely unacceptable to her!
Nolan nodded back to Oz in acknowledgment. He then went to the combat techniques bookshelf, returned the two books he had taken, and put them back.
Speaking of which, should he borrow another sword technique book? His "Favonius Swordsmanship: Fundamentals" almost maxed level and could fuse with "Favonius Swordsmanship: Royal".
By then, just like his archery skills now, there would be no more swordsmanship to continue fuse and upgrade.
He remembered there was a book called "Rhine One-Handed Sword Technique" in the library, which he could learn from. Regardless of its power, it could develop extraordinary characteristics after reaching max level, which was the most important thing.
Nolan searched the bookshelf for a moment and found that "Rhine One-Handed Sword Technique" had not been borrowed, which was fortunate.
He took down the book, flipped through it casually, noticing that it contained a lot of text, more complex than the content of "Favonius Swordsmanship: Fundamentals". It didn't seem easy to learn, so he decided to temporarily put it away and study it slowly after borrowing it.
Unfortunately, the Knights' library only had the one "Favonius Archery: Fundamentals" book on archery techniques, nothing else. If there were others, he could borrow them to study as well.
After all, to continue improving his archery skills, the only way was to learn new archery techniques and fuse them together.
Wait, although the library had no new archery manuals, Fischl here had one didn't she? Nolan recalled her archery technique was called "Sin-Purging Arrow".
Judging from this distinctive name, it should be a new archery technique she had come up with herself.
Although it might not be very sophisticated, after all, Fischl was not an archery master.
Her initial archery skills were most likely learned from her adventurer parents. "Sin-Purging Arrow" was probably an improvement based on those foundations.
Though it's also possible she just changed the name.
But as long as it was an archery technique he hadn't learned before, it could be used to improve and fuse into his own, eventually becoming part of the strongest archery skill he mastered.
Thinking this, Nolan made a decision. With his relationship with Fischl, it shouldn't be difficult to learn her archery skills.
Moreover, judging from the level of archery alone, he was much stronger than Fischl and could also guide her in practicing techniques, so there wouldn't be any suspicion of taking advantage for nothing.
Feeling confident in his idea, Nolan walked towards where Fischl was sitting.
As he approached, Fischl, immersed in her book's otherworldly realm, finally noticed Nolan. Her gaze shone with amusement as she said:
"Oh? My loyal attendant, you've come to this treasury of universal knowledge. Could it be that barely a day has passed and you already can't wait to pay respects to this Princess?"
Fischl spoke quietly, seeming a bit wary of drawing the attention of the "Librarian Witch" Miss Lisa.
"Last night, Miss Often mentioned to her father and mother the explorations everyone had in the secret realm. The two were very happy to hear Miss has made good friends!"
Oz, the Night Raven, perched on the backrest of the chair, lightly hopped and turned around, facing Nolan with a voice filled with a smile.
"Oz, too nosy!"
Fischl shot the raven an annoyed glare, a faint blush appearing on her fair face.
"Hehe." Nolan chuckled twice, then with a serious expression as if entering the "Little Amy's Chatter Channel," he said, "I did come to meet Her Royal Highness, and there's a small matter I'd like to ask for your help with!"
Fischl smoothly received the "transmission" and raised her chin happily.
"Hrmm, as my most trusted attendant, feel free to make any small request. I will definitely help to the best of my abilities!"
[Fischl Has Developed Good Feelings Towards You, Obtained 60 Affection Points. Current Affection Level Lv. 6 (110/600)]
Looking at the affection point prompt that popped up on the character panel, Nolan felt that there wouldn't be any major problems:
"You see, Your Highness, I've recently hit a bit of a bottleneck with my archery skills. So I was hoping to exchange some insights on archery techniques with you!"
"Oh my, yet Sir Nolan's archery skills are far superior to Miss's own. For him to still wish to seek guidance from Miss, could this be the embodiment of your humble nature?"
Oz said with some surprise.
"Ahem, Sir Oz. As the saying goes, 'Among three traveling companions, there will always be one who can serve as my teacher.' Meaning there is always something to learn from anyone. How much more so from our esteemed Princess!"
Hearing Oz's words, a famous axiom Nolan learned in elementary school came to mind. Thinking it fit the occasion well, he smiled as he quoted it.
"Hey, I feel like you two are both underestimating this Princess's archery skills. This is the Sin-Purging Arrow that will surely strike down the 'Beast of the World' that devours dreams! How could it be inferior?"
Fischl pressed her hands on the table's edge and leaned forward slightly in annoyance.
She completely failed to notice that her voice had grown a bit loud in the library's quiet atmosphere.
