[Genshin Impact] Chapter 86: Location
🕑 Added 2024-02-19 18:34:26 +0000 UTCMondstadt City, Dandelion Street.
Nolan and Kaeya, disguised so their identities weren't recognizable, entered a small tavern called "Blazing Flower". Grand Master Jean and Lisa waited some distance away outside.
This was the contact location Christie had given Nolan.
"Welcome! What would you two like to drink?" asked the young bartender in a black vest, wiping a glass. This small tavern's business was much more dismal compared to Cat's Tail and Angel's Share.
"I..." Nolan paused for a few seconds, then continued, "am looking for Christie."
The simple password Nolan and Kristie had agreed upon was "I am looking for Christie", but with a pause of a few seconds after saying "I".
The young bartender glanced at him with some surprise, put down the glass in his hand, and nodded, saying: "Understood, please wait."
The bartender turned and went upstairs. On his face, which Nolan couldn't see, the corners of his mouth curved into a smile.
Heh, so you finally came looking, Christie. Your time for revenge has come!
The bartender was also a Fatui agent, like Christie. This small tavern was a disposable base, generally used to bait and draw the attention of those with vested interests.
Just like some time ago, when Christie said he wanted to use it to ambush someone who had caused him trouble.
Without any surprises, it was this young man who arrived now, and he even brought a companion. Their vigilance was there, but it wasn't enough!
In order to improve the secrecy of rendezvous, the Fatui agents would gather at different meeting points around Mondstadt in turn, waiting for the inspector to come and assign missions. Today happened to be at this place.
Besides the inspector, the three-person squad was all present. Capturing these two wouldn't be a problem!
"Hehe, it seems we've found the right place, young adventurer," Kaeya, disguised as an ordinary adventurer, smiled.
As the captain of the Knights' cavalry, he could still sense the hint of malice revealed by the bartender just now.
"Hmm, I'll go get Grand Master Jean and the others."
Since they had already confirmed there were issues here, there was no need to keep up the act. Nolan took the opportunity while the bartender went upstairs to notify Grand Master Jean and Lisa to be ready.
When the bartender came down with Christie and another debt agents, they were completely dumbfounded to see the empty tavern hall, with the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, the Chief Librarian, the Captain of the Cavalry, and a young adventurer who should have been properly dealt with by them!
"Run!"
Christie and the other debt agent exchanged glances, each running towards a window on opposite sides. The remaining bartender also reacted, running back upstairs.
Facing several high-ranking members of the Knights of Favonius, there was no way they could handle it.
The ambush they had set had been turned back on them!
"Well, to capture all of you, we even mobilized the Acting Grand Master. Do you think you can escape?"
Kaeya chuckled lightly, sweeping his longsword to freeze the window on the right side of the tavern hall with Frost Gnaw.
"No matter how fast you run, can you really outrun the lightning?" Lisa pursed her soft lips slightly, her right hand in a black glove pointing towards Christie running to the left window.
Several purple lightning bolts then shot from her index finger, enveloping Christie's body before she could react.
Christie Kristie was just about to step onto the windowsill to jump out when he suddenly felt a chill run through him. Immediately after, he lost control of his body, numb and paralyzed.
Bang!
Unable to stop her momentum, he crashed against the wall.
Christie collapsed on the ground, his body convulsing. Although he didn't lose consciousness, he could barely think clearly, only vaguely aware that he was still alive.
At the same time, Nolan quickly nocked an armor-piercing arrow on the bowstring, and when the arrow was shot, it was like a silent shadow.
Suddenly piercing through the air, it flew past the bartender's neck, grazing him, and landed on the staircase in front of him, leaving him stunned, unable to help but swallow hard.
"The next arrow will aim for your head!" Nolan threatened with a slight smile.
The young bartender Scuraia Ciman stiffly turned his head and surrendered, saying:
"Well...please calm down, we're willing to cooperate!"
The other debt agent, seeing there was no hope in fleeing, had to give up struggling. After all, facing such an incredible lineup from the Knights of Favonius, it was hard to imagine winning.
Further resistance would only increase their injuries.
"Oh my, at least they know when to quit," Lisa laughed lightly.
Grand Master Jean also nodded slightly and said, "Given the urgency, we should first find out the location of the Fatui's secret base and rescue the captives, then ask about the other details."
"We'll have to question them separately, can't give them a chance to coordinate," said the experienced Kaeya.
These Fatui agents did not have the courage of their superior Inspector Heston to commit suicide without revealing information. During Kaeya's interrogation, they successfully obtained the information about the secret base of the Foolish People and the Verdant Winds Adventure Team.
Then, under Grand Master Jean's command, Cavalry Captain Kaeya immediately led a squad of Knights out of the city to that secret location to rescue the deceived newbie adventurers.
Nolan didn't go with them. After all, the Knights of Favonius hadn't reached a point where they needed an ordinary adventurer to help carry out missions.
"Well, you really worked hard today, little adventurer~"
After the Knights of Favonius arrested the Fatui agents and brought them back, Lisa hugged her arms and smiled at Nolan.
"Haha, I'm still really happy I could help. If there's nothing else, I should get going."
Nolan's stomach had been rumbling for a while now. It was already evening and he hadn't even had his lunch yet.
"Your contributions to Mondstadt will not be forgotten," Grand Master Jean, wearing an off-the-shoulder top with her snowy back partially visible under her cloak, nodded slightly as she said this.
[Jean Has Developed Good Feelings Towards You, Obtained 60 Affection Points. Current Affection Level Lv.2 (80/200)]
"Thank you very much."
Nolan was still quite happy. If he contributed more in the future, Grand Master Jean might even give him an honorary knight title or something.
After bidding farewell to Lisa and Grand Master Jean, as Nolan was returning home, he passed by the Good Hunter Restaurant. The wafting aroma proved too much temptation, and he couldn't resist going in instead of going home to cook dinner.
After eating and drinking his fill at Good Hunter, Nolan returned home and lay on his bed, looking at the over 1,900 Adventure EXP on his character panel, not quite sure where to spend them.
