[Genshin Impact] Chapter 83: Magic Blessing: Lighting Rose
🕑 Added 2024-02-15 18:01:29 +0000 UTCSeeing the debt-agent not far away in the room, Nolan didn't make the first move without certainty, lest he expose an opening and get countered.
After all, he had just successfully dodged that sword strike, only sustaining a minor cut.
"Not bad dealing with him, little adventurer~ But it'll still take a bit more to decide the victor!"
Lisa pursed her lips slightly, smiling as she spoke.
She hadn't expected the young adventurer to give her a slight surprise. After all, the strength of this debt agent was not to be underestimated.
Though it was also because she had shocked him beforehand.
She raised the hand wearing the black glove to her chest, gently flipping her palm upwards. The sizzling thunder flickered within it, gradually forming a rose composed of accumulated electro elements.
"Since that's the case, let big sister give you a little blessing~"
Lisa gently patted the Lighting Rose on the young adventurer's back. A numb, tingling sensation instantly spread through Nolan's body, not painful yet still making him tingle.
Lasting less than a second, the tingling sensation gathered into his right hand, holding the Dull Blade +20, before gushing forth.
The Dull Blade was suddenly covered in flickering, dancing currents of lightning.
"This is?"
Nolan looked in astonishment at the Electro-element-infused Dull Blade. He also felt that his body seemed to have become lighter.
"It's a magical blessing from your big sis~ It can imbue your one-handed sword with electro for a long time, increasing its power considerably. Consider it a small achievement in my magical research."
Lisa's fair arms crossed slightly over her chest as she explained with her lips slightly parted, moving up and down.
"I see, magic." Nolan nodded in understanding.
The magic Lisa wielded was different from the ancient magics of the Abyss Mages that could directly control elemental energy.
It was more like research and experimentation on various ways and the essence of manipulating elemental power, without directly controlling it.
And when the Vision appeared in her hands, it was like obtaining a key to unleash elemental power from the theoretical knowledge gate.
Creating such a minor magic wasn't hard for Lisa, a once-in-two-centuries genius of Sumeru Akademiya.
"Mm-hmm~ Go on, don't disappoint big sis now!" Lisa said smilingly behind an upraised hand.
On the other side, when Inspector General Heston, the debt agent, noticed that Nolan seemed to have become more formidable, he re-entered stealth mode and ran towards the window before either of them could react.
Since it was clear that he couldn't defeat the Knights of Favonius' librarian, it was time to retreat!
At the same time, what puzzled Hesdan was why their cooperation with the Verdant Wings Adventure Team had been very covert. Why the sudden visit?
The Verdant Wings' outward behavior was also normal. They didn't even have a strong attitude towards the new adventurers they recruited.
Before officially leaving Mondstadt for their base, they had carefully and cautiously deceived the newcomers to avoid arousing suspicion.
If there was too much commotion and it attracted the Knights of Favonius, as it was now, things would become extremely troublesome!
Heston couldn't quite figure this out.
He had been on the second floor and rarely showed his face, so he didn't know about Nolan and their conversation with the two young adventurers at the door.
Otherwise, learning it was due to a book brought by Fenny, he would've been furious enough to knock his mask off!
As Heston was about to step out of the window, a long sword entwined with thunderlight blocked his path before him.
This time, he didn't dare to take it lightly. If he was hit by such a sword strike, under the paralysis of the electro element, he probably wouldn't have a chance to continue fleeing.
Heston lifted his sacrificial knife to block head-on. Purple lightning bursts out between the knife and sword edges.
After a brief stalemate, he had to pull back, because the lightning on the sword turned into thorny rose vines that slowly crept along his blade.
Fortunately, as a specially crafted weapon, it had decent resistance to elements, slightly slowing down the spread of the Lighting Rose.
"Damn it!" Heston cursed angrily.
Nolan didn't give him a chance to catch his breath. With the Dull Blade imbued with Lisa's magic electro element, its attack power was now on par with this debt enforcer.
Furthermore, he could match him in strength, and his swordsmanship level was far beyond his combat skills.
Plus he had been struck by Lisa's electro attacks earlier!
With so many advantages, if he still lost, not only would Lisa be disappointed, but Nolan would also be disappointed in himself.
As the battle broke Heston's stealth, he had to once again mobilize the power of his Delusion to guide the pyro elemental power to clash with the sword coming at him.
The overload reaction between the electro and pyro elements burst forth, and both of them took a slight step back.
"Come on, again!"
Nolan chuckled lightly, then raised the Dull Blade in his right hand and thrust it towards the debt enforcer again.
Superficially, it was just an ordinary thrust, but in essence, it utilized the extraordinary characteristics of the "Favonius Swordsmanship - Royal" to concentrate all his strength into a powerful strike.
Sure enough, the debt agent, looking at the seemingly slow thrust, still attempted to block it with his sacrificial knife, but in the next moment, he was forcefully pushed back by the sudden increase in power.
Then, the lightning-blinking sword tip pointed directly at Heston's throat, but Nolan stopped the force, halting it just as it touched his skin.
Then, the electro element spread throughout his body, and in no time, he was electrocuted and collapsed to the ground.

"Phew... Miss Lisa, it should be fine now, right?" Nolan let out a breath of relief after the tense fight upon seeing the notification.
"Oh my~ Little adventurer, you did great!" Lisa nodded, the little rose lamp on her witch hat's tip swaying twice.
[Lisa Has Developed Good Feelings Towards You, Obtained 120 Affection Points. Current Affection Level Lv.3 (20/300)]
Lisa preferred not to trouble herself if she could avoid it, so naturally, she was happy when enemies could be dealt with without her having to intervene. And for the greatest contributor, Nolan, she couldn't help but feel a little affection.
"Well, Miss Lisa, what should we do next?" Nolan asked with some confusion.
This Verdant Wings adventure team clearly had some collusion with the Fatui. Otherwise, the debt-agent wouldn't coincidentally appear here.
They even seemed hostile toward them.
"Sigh, I'm just a librarian. Why do I keep running into trouble... Let's take him back for the other Knights to interrogate properly."
Lisa strode over to the unconscious debt-agent in her black lace-trimmed thigh highs.
She slowly crouched down while lifting up the sides of her deep blue skirt, tucking it between her folded thighs and calves so it wouldn't touch the floor and get dirty.
Reaching out, Lisa took the dark red Delusion pinned to the debt-agent's chest into her hand. She chuckled and said:
"This thing has nice research value. I'll hold onto it for a while~"
