[Genshin Impact] Chapter 79: The Final Wrap-Up
🕑 Added 2024-02-10 09:01:51 +0000 UTCSecret Realm Layer 2, Eastern Marsh Area.
When Nolan and his group followed the crowd here, battles between adventurers and monsters were already underway.
The silver-colored Petrified Ancient Tree stood right in the middle of the marsh, emitting a faint glow all around.
Since this was a marshy area with abundant Hydro elements, there were many Hydro Slimes present.
At a glance, over ten huge Hydro Slimes fought adventurers, with countless smaller ones, at least several dozen.
There were also many Geo Slimes and Hilichurls, even some defeated Ruin Guards in the marsh.
It seemed that among the adventurers here, there were some very powerful individuals.
Unlike humans, Slimes as elemental lifeforms had a big advantage in the marsh, barely hindered by the muddy, soggy ground.
Large Hilichurl Berserkers were fine, but smaller Hilichurls struggled more.
If they accidentally stepped into a larger marsh pit, they wouldn't need humans to deal with them; they would sink themselves, especially the charging hilichurls carrying torches.
Their troublesome way of charging around swinging torches was of no use here.
After running a few steps, they would be exhausted by the soft and soggy marsh ground.
Although it was equally difficult for human adventurers, more and more people were gathering here, and sooner or later, they would emerge as the victors of this battle as long as nothing unexpected happened.
"Raging Flame, pierce through!" A loud roar rang from the battlefield, drawing many gazes.
Nolan also looked over.
The bald, square-faced young adventurer from before reappeared, the one Fischl had called rude.
His muscular arm was wrapped in a rich red Pyro element, piercing through a large Hydro Slime directly, with wisps of steam rising around it.
It was obvious that the Pyro element's attack on the Hydro element-based Hydro Slimes triggered an elemental reaction between them—Vaporize.
This was an elemental reaction that could amplify the power of the current attack by 1.5x. A very potent reaction.
"Amazing, is this the power of a Vision holder?"
"He seems to be the leader of the Dark Adventure Team, Arron!"
"I heard he's someone who treats his companions and himself equally strictly."
"Joining his adventure team isn't difficult, but many people leave sadly afterward because they can't handle the intensity of his training. It's a shame."
Nolan listened to the discussions of the adventurers around him regarding the buzz-cut youth, feeling somewhat surprised.
A Vision wielder, huh?
This was Nolan's first encounter with a Vision holder outside of the original characters from the story.
However, he didn't dwell on it. Although Vision wielders were rare, there were more of them than just the few characters that appeared in the original story.
After a brief preparation.
Nolan and his group of three also joined the battle. The marshy environment with abundant Hydro elements was actually advantageous for them.
Fischl's mastery of the Electro element could trigger the Electro-Charged reaction with the Hydro element, causing widespread damage to Hydro-attached monsters.
Bennett could also trigger the Vaporize reaction, greatly amplifying his attack power.
Nolan's dual-elemental potion of Electro and Pyro was also very useful here.
Oz flitted through the battlefield, each Thunder Bolt he spat out Electrocuteing and Paralyzing monsters, providing openings for other adventurers.
Not only damaging foes, the paralysis also restricted their actions afterwards, offering allies favorable attack opportunities.
In the area where Electro-Charged reactions occurred, they didn't dare to get too close. After all, in the conductive marshland, it was hard to distinguish friend from foe.
Nolan took an Electro Element potion and smashed it into a pile of small water slimes. The Thunder Element burst forth, and notifications started flooding his character panel.
Adventure EXP +32
Adventure EXP +29
Adventure EXP +37
Just over 200 Adventure EXP gained, making Nolan regret wasting potions for momentary satisfaction.
With his current swordsmanship, dealing with these weak Hydro slimes barely required a second strike.
Same for the Hilichurls. His Level 20 Dull Blade was like a divine weapon in his hands, channeling his full strength to swiftly and elegantly defeat foes, dazzling the adventurers around him.
They seemed to wonder when such a formidable figure had emerged in the Adventurers' Guild.
After a long while, the monsters were ultimately defeated by humans. In the absence of reinforcements, they were gradually consumed by the constantly incoming human adventurers.
The last Hilichurl Berserker, muddied from head to toe, fell to Bennett's strike. No monsters remained standing in the marsh area.
The final grand prize—the Petrified Ancient Tree—was right before their eyes!
As Adventurers' Guild members, savage fighting over the coveted treasure wouldn't happen. (T/N: AKA no Chinese BS fighting over Jade Beauty!)
When it came to this kind of situation, the Adventurers' Guild's role manifested itself again.
Under everyone's witness, they used the Original Resin to activate the petrified ancient tree and meticulously recorded everything they obtained.
The Adventurers' Guild would later exchange them for equivalent Mora, then evaluate each adventure team's contribution in this battle and distribute accordingly.
Using the Mora allocated based on contributions, adventurers could purchase treasures extracted from the petrified ancient tree. The greater the contribution, the higher the priority in purchasing, until all allocated Mora was used up.
This was considered to be as fair and just as possible.
Every adventure group's accomplishments were witnessed by everyone present. Regardless of whether the gains were large or small, they were all deserved.
After confirming that everything was in order, which might take some time, the distribution of spoils would be arranged for tomorrow morning.
Having successfully found the biggest treasure, the Petrified Ancient Tree, there was nothing much to expect in the Secret Realm anymore. The treasure chests and whatnot were probably already discovered by the adventurers as well.
Indeed, in their remaining explorations, Nolan's group only encountered scattered monsters, not a single treasure chest was seen.
Left with no choice but to begin the return trip early.
But fortunately, it wasn't without gains. During the boring adventure just now, Fischl occasionally mentioned her past in the Immernachtreich. Nolan could also follow her lead and say a few words.
He successfully gained her affection twice, and her affection level increased by one level, reaching Lv.6 (50/600).
He was not far from reaching the maximum affection level.
Among the girls Nolan knew, Fischl currently had the highest affection level toward him, perhaps because he was one of the few who could understand her.
In terms of Adventure EXP, there were also over two thousand in total, plus the two Primogems he bought, which were also very good.
Under the brilliant sunlight,
When Nolan and his three companions returned to Mondstadt, it was just around noon, and their adventure in the Secret Realm came to a perfect conclusion.
