Chapter 79: Challenge to Odin "So this is Asgard?"
🕑 Added 2024-02-03 17:46:12 +0000 UTCPeter arrived holding Thor's severely injured body, slowly emerging from the dissipating rainbow light pillar.
"You are...that Midgardian?"
Heimdall, the guardian of the Bifrost, looked at Peter emerging from the Bifrost Bridge in utter shock.
"Thor? Damn it, what did you do to him?"
Amidst his shock, Heimdall finally saw Thor being held by Peter, looking at the blood red that permeated Thor's entire body. His eyes instantly filled with anger.
Drawing his silver longsword, he charged straight at Peter, swearing to avenge Thor.
"You Asgardians are so unreasonable, aren't you?"
Peter casually threw the severely injured Thor over.
The simple action contained immense power.
"Thor!"
Heimdall shouted, hurriedly throwing down his sword, trying to catch the flying Thor.
"How is this possible!"
However, in the instant of contact, a torrent of power suddenly swept over.
Together with him, they were blasted back dozens of meters, crashing heavily onto the shimmering Bifrost Bridge.
The tremendous force smashed them through the surface of the Bifrost Bridge.
Heimdall was still conscious, so he barely grabbed the edge of the Bifrost Bridge.
"No!"
But the unconscious Thor slipped from his sight, about to fall into the spacetime wormhole beneath the Bifrost Bridge.
Heimdall's resentful shout seemed to take effect.
A figure suddenly appeared at the edge of the Bifrost Bridge, and an aged but powerful hand grabbed Thor's falling body, pulling him back onto the Bifrost Bridge.
"Your Majesty, you've finally come! Thor, he..."
Heimdall's face was filled with pleasant surprise, looking at Odin who had suddenly arrived, somewhat hesitant to speak further.
"Come up first."
Odin's aged face was completely calm as he reached out to Heimdall.
...
"Human, why have you trespassed into Asgard?"
After saving Heimdall, Odin holding the eternal spear looked sternly at Peter, questioning in an authoritative voice full of majesty.
"If I enter Asgard it's trespassing, but if you enter Earth it's a visitation? How laughable."
Ignoring Odin's serious expression, Peter's face revealed a mocking look.
"You..."
Heimdall wanted to refute but was stopped by Odin's raised hand.
"There is no need to argue over such meaningless things, Your Excellency."
"I only need to know, why have you come this time?"
Odin in his golden battle armor exuded a formidable aura, continuing to question Peter.
"Humph, haven't you seen it already? I only came to return this guy who has provoked me again and again."
"I'm doing this out of goodwill."
Peter's face revealed a benevolent smile, as if everything was just as he said.
"Thor is like this, and you still say you have good intentions..."
Heimdall held Thor's severely injured body, his face full of anger.
"It's just severe injuries, isn't this very normal? It's his own fault for coming to Earth to provoke me when he's free."
"Not killing him on the spot is already showing mercy on my part."
Peter's expression gradually became stern as he spoke, eyes filled with aggression staring fixedly at Odin.
"You..."
Heimdall was filled with rage, about to charge over.
"Stand down!"
However, as Odin heavily struck the Bifrost Bridge with the eternal spear...
A furious voice echoed throughout all of Asgard. All the Asgardians couldn't help but look in this direction, surprised that Odin would get so angry.
"Midgardian, I apologize on Thor's behalf and thank you for your mercy."
"If you need anything, feel free to ask. Asgard will undoubtedly do its utmost."
Odin's expression kept changing, but he eventually suppressed his strong anger. His tone was calm as he expressed his apologies and gratitude to Peter.
"I didn't expect that you old guy, not only got older, but your mind also seems to have broadened a lot."
Peter didn't expect Odin to hold back his inner rage and not attack him.
"Looks like trying to provoke him today and fight another round is probably impossible."
With his awakened divine power and a transcendent imperial armament beyond Mjolnir, Thor's strength was already quite formidable.
But to Peter now, it still posed no challenge.
If he hadn't shown mercy just now, that punch would have turned Thor's body, along with that planet, into cosmic dust.
Only Odin now, with his extremely aged appearance but divine power at its peak, could match up to the current Peter if he went all out.
Unfortunately, this old guy was too cautious. To last a bit longer, he almost never went all out.
Even last time, he just fled in panic.
...
"Forget it, I don't need any compensation."
Peter waved his hand, indicating he didn't need anything.
"However, since you guys can come to Earth and challenge me."
"Then I should also be able to challenge you Asgardians, right?"
"It's settled then. Now, I represent Earth to come and challenge you Asgardians!"
Suddenly, Peter's face revealed a trace of excitement as he fearlessly issued a challenge to all the Asgardians.
"Of course, I'm challenging real powerhouses, not some weaklings... After all, next time I may not show mercy!"
As Peter spoke, his contemptuous gaze swept over the severely injured Thor and Heimdall.
"Ignorant human, how dare you provoke His Majesty the King..."
Before Heimdall could finish, Odin raised his hand.
"Very well, I accept your challenge."
"But I also have one condition..."
Odin spoke slowly with a solemn expression.
"OK, as long as you agree to the challenge, just state your condition."
Peter didn't expect Odin to actually agree to his challenge. Amidst his excitement, he did not reject Odin's condition.
"I hope you can give me some time to prepare."
"After all, the battle between us will likely be extraordinary."
Odin calmly stated his condition.
"Just that? No problem at all."
Peter wondered what conditions he would propose. He agreed almost without hesitation.
"However, I can give you some time to prepare, but preferably no more than ten days."
"After all, my patience is also limited!"
But to block Odin's way out, Peter still gave a definite time limit.
"Alright, ten days it is!"
Odin pondered for a while and agreed without hesitation.
"In that case, I'll take my leave. Consider this axe a token between us, lest you go back on your word later."
Gripping the battleaxe in his hand, Peter directly activated the Bifrost the next moment and disappeared from Asgard.
