[Superman] Chapter 74: Nanotech Battle Armor? No, This is an Artifact!
🕑 Added 2024-02-03 05:20:53 +0000 UTC"Building a space station? Capturing cosmic storms?"
The first one seems relatively easy to achieve, after all, they have Superman.
Traveling to space doesn't require huge investments in manufacturing rockets, just a few rays of sunlight.
And they also have such outrageous teleportation technology, which is even more convenient than any space elevator.
However, trying to capture cosmic storms doesn't seem so easy.
"Mr. Superman, it's not that our aspirations are small, it's just...those are cosmic storms, with incredibly terrifying cosmic radiation that ordinary people probably..."
If it was possible, Reed would naturally want to capture the cosmic storms and observe them like lab rats.
But in fact, cosmic storms are not living beings, or even gases.
Rather, they are an invisible, massive amount of energy and radiation in the cosmos.
Just resisting their invasion and observing them is already very difficult, let alone capturing them.
"Even if you're Superman, I'm afraid..."
Reed didn't continue, but from his expression of wanting to speak but hesitating, it could be seen that he didn't have any fantasies about Peter being able to capture the cosmic storm.
"You think I don't understand cosmic storms, but in fact you don't understand Superman..."
Superman's powers were never fixed.
"Alright, Mr. Superman, since you insist, then we naturally have no objections, only hoping that you can give us the chance to observe first when the time comes, before attempting the capture."
At this point, Reed could only fight for his own chance to observe.
"Also, if you want to build the space station, in addition to the necessary funds and equipment, you may need to travel back and forth between Earth and outer space many times."
Reed said somewhat apologetically, as this was undoubtedly treating the great Superman as a deliveryman.
"Don't worry, since this plan was my proposal, I will naturally do my best."
"So, Mr. Superman, what do you plan to name this space station?"
"How about...the Watchtower!"
Peter slowly spoke, confirming the name of the space station.
...
In the following period of time, the Watchtower construction plan took priority over other experiments.
The company was recruiting all kinds of personnel while investing funds, building the Watchtower space station on the ground.
And Peter only had to wait for the space station to be built, transport it into space, and put it into Earth's orbit, and his great undertaking would be accomplished.
As for what everyone was very interested in, how exactly he would capture that huge cosmic storm, Peter kept it secret.
He would only demonstrate it before everyone when the cosmic storm truly arrived.
Of course, Peter himself also entered his own company as an intern student.
After all, in a few months, he would graduate from high school.
At that time he would also need to consider going to university/college.
After all, Uncle Ben's gaze and Aunt May's nagging weren't easy to bear, even if he was Superman.
So, today, just after school, he came to the company with Gwen.
"That is...?"
Just after entering the company, Peter saw a familiar figure.
"What? Can't take your eyes off a beauty?"
Seeing Peter suddenly stunned, Gwen followed his gaze and the formerly smiling expression on her face instantly turned cold.
"No, she just looks a bit familiar."
Looking at the curvaceous, red-haired eye-catching figure not far away, Peter calmly replied.
"What? Do you need me to go over and ask for her contact info?"
Gwen said sourly.
"Forget it, let's go."
Peter took another look and didn't take it to heart, turning around and walking towards the elevator.
"Her name is Natalie, she's here representing Stark Industries to discuss cooperation with us."
Following Peter into the elevator, Gwen hesitated for a moment and still said to Peter.
"Gwen, I really have no interest in her."
Peter said calmly.
"Natalie? Shouldn't it be Natasha?"
Peter naturally recognized the famous Black Widow.
"But, she's already infiltrated Stark Industries now. I wonder if she's got any news about Tony going to Kamar-Taj."
"I guess if that guy knew Tony gave up researching technology and instead pursued ephemeral magic, his expression would be quite interesting."
Peter naturally understood that in the original plot, Natasha infiltrated Stark Industries not only to determine Tony's physical condition but also, more importantly, to inquire about Tony's armor technology.
Of course, there was also assessing whether Tony was qualified to join the Avengers.
Unfortunately, their plans might be in vain now because, at this moment, Tony is still in Kamar-Taj, diligently practicing magic.
Thinking of Tony learning magic, Peter couldn't help but use his super hearing to listen in on Tony in Kamar-Taj.
At Kamar-Taj, the Ancient One who was quietly meditating in the hall seemed to sense something. She suddenly opens her eyes, then smiles and sinks back into meditation.
And the scene Peter is seeing now,
Is Tony dressed in monk robes, battling the cold-faced Kaecilius.
...
"Hey, old buddy, don't underestimate me just because I'm new here; I can still take you down."
Even though only a few days had passed, Tony, being a genius, had already become very skilled in using some basic magic.
With both hands held out in front of him and slowly apart, a shimmering golden magic whip appeared in his hands in an instant.
"Hmph, novice apprentice, you still have a lot to learn."
Kaecilius replied with an extremely indifferent expression. The next moment, with a single hand gesture, a stick nearly a meter long suddenly flew over from a distance.
Gripping the stick, Kaecilius slowly swung it, and under the shining golden light, the stick actually grew a lot longer out of thin air, like a long whip, lashing towards Tony not far away.
"You're cheating!"
Rolling to the side in embarrassment to avoid Tony's sudden attack, Kaecilius angrily shouted.
"Heh, your enemies won't play fair with you."
Seeing Tony dodge the attack, Kaecilius didn't hesitate to charge towards him.
The shining whip in his hand suddenly transformed back into a long stick, and he directly swung it towards Tony lying on the ground.
"Damn it, you have no honor."
Tony didn't have time to get up yet, he could only hold up the magic whip over his head to block the attack.
Bang!
The magic whip successfully blocked Kaecilius's attack.
However, Tony didn't have time to be happy.
The stick transformed back into a long whip again and snapped onto his back with a loud crack, causing a deep cut in his monk robe as if it were a knife.
"Ouch, that hurts!"
Feeling the fiery pain on his back, Tony also felt very angry.
The next moment, he suddenly swung the magic whip in his hand, wrapping it around Kaecilius's ankle in front of him.
"Lie down for me!"
With a roar, Tony forcefully pulled the magic whip.
The immense force made Kaecilius somewhat unstable, and he fell backward.
However, before Tony could be happy, he saw Kaecilius's other foot shimmering with a golden light, like a pair of small wings.
The next moment, not only did he relieve the danger of falling, but he also gained even greater strength, kicking directly towards Tony.
"F*ck it, why does this guy have so many weird things on him."
Tony hurriedly dispersed the magic whip and tried to defend himself with a magic shield.
However, he had only practiced magic for a short time.
The magic shield had just formed and was shattered by Kaecilius's kick, dissipating into golden light.
And without reducing momentum the kick landed squarely on his face, sending him flying several meters.
"Let me teach you another lesson. These are called mystic artifacts, by channeling magical energy into them, you can manipulate their immense power."
"Bastard, don't hit the face when fighting."
At this moment, Tony seemed to be at his wits' end, directly activating his nano armor.
Then standing up, the nanoparticles in his hands formed into a baseball bat, charging straight at Kaecilius.
Facing the menacing Tony, Kaecilius's expression was unchanged. The instant before Tony could hit him, he opened a portal.
Ah!
A golden portal appeared in the air at the same time, and Tony's figure fell out of it.
Suddenly, a golden light flashed on Tony's armor, appearing just like the golden wings previously flashing on Kaecilius's feet.
Slowly fluttering, suspending Tony's body in midair.
"I see, you said to channel magical energy into mystic artifacts."
"Then now, my armor should also count as a mystic artifact, right."
...
