[Superman] Chapter 72: Dr. Octopus vs Green Goblin
🕑 Added 2024-01-21 17:22:21 +0000 UTCWith Green Goblin's sudden appearance, the scene instantly descended into chaos.
"Hahahaha..."
A creepy laughter rang out in the air, making the people fleeing in panic feel like they were being eyed by a lunatic.
"Damn you, how dare you disrupt the dinner party I convened."
Dr. Octavius himself was a weak scientist in terms of strength.
But counting his several incredibly strong metal tentacles, he was Doctor Octopus who could wrestle with Spider-Man.
Right now, seeing this sudden madman stirring up chaos at the banquet scene, the previously benevolent expression was now filled with intense fury.
"Hehehe, all you wretched people, go die for me!"
Ignoring the ordinary people escaping in panic, Green Goblin rode his hoverboard straight to the military's side.
Even with another personality, his hatred for the military still filled Green Goblin's heart.
This intense resentment led him to unhesitatingly hurl a round pumpkin bomb at the high-ranking military officials.
Suddenly, a metal tentacle shot out rapidly from afar.
It grabbed the aerial pumpkin bomb with incredible precision, then fiercely flung it back at the airborne Green Goblin.
"Who dares interfere with me?"
With shocked eyes, Green Goblin nimbly evaded the returned pumpkin bomb with a swift movement. His gaze like a hunting falcon then locked onto Dr. Octavius on the stage.
Boom!
The pumpkin bomb exploded in the air, unleashing a ball of dazzling flames.
"Ahhh run!"
And this blast in such close proximity instantly plunged the scene into greater chaos.
Countless people frantically fled the calamity.
"Damn you, I'll make you pay!"
At this moment, Dr. Octavius' expression grew even more enraged.
A perfect chance to establish their company's reputation with this banquet, ruined by this sudden intruder.
This was something he absolutely could not tolerate.
The next instant, the furious Otto transformed into Doctor Octopus.
The metal tentacles behind him lengthened according to his will, slowly lifting his body into the air to directly face Green Goblin hovering on the flyer.
The next moment, two other tentacles rapidly shot forth, grabbing straight at the aerial Green Goblin.
...
Madness glinted in Green Goblin's eyes.
As the swiftly extending tentacles were about to grab him, he exerted force underfoot and the flyer instantly shifted him a small distance.
The metal tentacle brushed right past his body and reached behind him.
"Hehehe..."
Suddenly, Green Goblin let out another creepy laugh.
Then he actually grabbed onto that metal tentacle directly.
With the drug enhancing his strength to dozens of tons, that tremendous might erupted forth now, seemingly wanting to yank Doctor Octopus over.
"Tss, what monstrous strength!"
The instant they made contact, Otto was shocked to find this guy wasn't just mentally deranged.
His body contained an inhumanly terrifying gigantic strength that could actually match his metal tentacles.
Doctor Octopus wouldn't be defeated so easily either.
The two tentacles below dug deeply into the ground, resisting Green Goblin's pull.
At the same time, the last tentacle above shot forth once more with extreme speed at the aerial Green Goblin.
Bang!
"Got him?"
And this time, perhaps because he failed to dodge swiftly enough, Octavius' other tentacle miraculously struck the guy directly and sent him flying away. He even slipped off the hoverboard and started plummeting towards the ground.
"Hehehe..."
Just as Octavius was about to retract his tentacle and pursue the falling Green Goblin, he suddenly heard another sinister laugh from him.
Sensing something bad, the hoverboard in the air was instantly summoned over, successfully catching Green Goblin before he hit the ground.
"Not good...is that a bomb?"
The next moment, Dr. Octavius saw that his retracted tentacle contained a pumpkin bomb that he didn't know when it got snatched.
Trying to take it out now would probably be too late.
"Watch out!"
Suddenly, a voice yelled out from the other side.
The next instant, a silvery-white spider silk shot through the air, accurately striking the tentacle holding that pumpkin bomb.
Then it forcefully yanked the bomb free.
But due to the reaction force, the bomb flew towards Spider-Woman's direction.
"Get clear!"
Seeing Spider-Woman who had suddenly appeared and helped him, Dr. Octavius anxiously yelled.
In fact, the moment the pumpkin bomb approached, Gwen's body already shuddered instinctively.
She then fiercely shot a web to the side, twisting her body forcefully.
Boom!
Under the thunderous explosion, Gwen still failed to fully evade the blast. Her body was sent flying by the shockwave and heavily slammed onto the ground.
"Hehehe, two against one, you guys fight dirty. I'm out!"
Seeing the chaos he caused, Green Goblin excitedly prepared to retreat.
But before leaving, Green Goblin snatched out almost all the pumpkin bombs he had brought in an instant.
With hands spread open, over ten pumpkin bombs were gripped between his fingers.
He flung the bombs in his right hand at the panicked crowd fleeing left.
While the bombs in his left hand were tossed at the crowd on the right.
The next moment, he directly turned and sped off on his hoverboard.
"No!"
Gwen and Dr. Octopus could only watch helplessly as Green Goblin left.
While they themselves rushed at top speed towards the impact points of the nearest pumpkin bombs, trying to prevent them from landing amidst the crowds.
Gwen was alright - she could shoot out multiple webs in a short time, accurately sticking the aerial pumpkin bombs.
But Dr. Octopus with only four tentacles simply couldn't stop over ten bombs completely.
"Ahhh I don't want to die!"
Seeing the bombs plummeting rapidly from above, the people below were scared witless. They crouched on the ground clutching their heads as they screamed in panic.
Just as the bombs were about to hit the ground and detonate, taking dozens of lives in an instant.
Suddenly, all the aerial pumpkin bombs disappeared in a flash.
"What?"
And Green Goblin, who was trying to escape, also suddenly sensed his vision blur. Then another oppressive figure appeared before him!
"Sorry, it's not two against one anymore, but three against one!"
"Superman is here, we're saved!"
At this moment, some recognized that majestic figure in the sky as humankind's hero Superman.
Right now, Peter's expression was calm as he looked at Green Goblin before him. He slowly opened his hand, revealing the gleaming pumpkin bombs.
Beep... Beep... Beep beep!
As the frantic beeping from the bombs grew more rapid.
Fear also flashed through Green Goblin's eyes.
The next moment, he hastily tried to steer the flyer back to flee the bombs' blast radius.
But it was already too late.
Boom boom boom!
A series of explosions instantly sounded as balls of dazzling flame like fireworks bloomed in the sky.
Even as Green Goblin, being swept up in over ten pumpkin bomb detonations at once, he couldn't come out of this unscathed.
His entire body was blasted flying and heavily slammed onto the ground.
The mask on his face was also blown apart, leaving only half of it still hanging on, revealing Norman Osborn's face beneath.
"It's you? Mr. Norman Osborn?"
At this moment, some who recognized him looked on in disbelief.
"Superman, I was wrong. That wasn't me earlier, I was being controlled..."
Suddenly, Osborn removed the remaining half of the mask from his face and knelt on the ground, apologizing repeatedly to Peter in the sky.
However, with almost no one noticing, that hoverboard in the air actually slowly accelerated. Sharp blades extended from its front as it charged at Peter from behind.
"Sorry, your acting is too poor!"
Peter's eyes gradually unleashed red beams. The next moment, the dazzling radiance erupted forth.
The brilliant flash made everyone present shut their eyes reflexively!
Clang!
The out-of-control hoverboard crashed straight into the ground.
