"You Fucking Died. So Now What?”
Mila raises a brow at the title of the pamphlet stuffed into her hands by some guy wearing a grim reaper costume.
Or at least…she thinks it's a costume.
He's got the signature cloak, hood drawn up to hide his facial features, with skeletal looking hands so close to the bone that there's no trace of muscle or meat beneath.
And he's not the only one wearing a cloak. There's a handful of them actually, this one just being the closest to her.
Mila watches as he moves onto the next person in line who looks just as dazed and confused as she feels, her own memories from the last few hours muddled.
She looks back down at the pamphlet and frowns.
One moment she was working and the next she's standing in a single file line amongst a crowd of people trapped in a long stretch of hallway waiting for…something to happen although she doesn't know what.
According to this pamphlet she somehow died.
Which isn't…great.
But at least she can't remember the pain of death sooooo…there's that?
Still, what did she die from?
Mulling this over, Mila leafs through the pamphlet as the line inches forward at a snail's pace, not knowing what else to do.
Never did she think that the afterlife had similar wait times rivaling her DMVs.
She supposes she should feel distressed about the situation.
Most people would freak out.
Panic.
Cry even.
But she feels…calm.
And none of the others behind or ahead of her react negatively either.
Almost as if there's an outside force allowing them a sense of peace despite the confusing and unprecedented circumstances.
