Katherine “Kat” Bourne.
She is the protagonist of “Monsters At The Gate” and a failed, talentless magician who works as a RELICS KEEPER (Keeper of Relics and Dark Artifacts) at the private supernatural containment agency known as “Monsters At The Gate.”

Appearance.
Kat is a young adult with a youthful appearance, long, messy orange hair that covers one of her red eyes with a long lock of hair. She also has a slim and athletic figure. Despite her delicate and very attractive figure and appearance, her clothing doesn't quite match her beauty. She wears two shirts of different sizes, accompanied by a large aviator jacket that reaches her knees. Her pants are somewhat tight and are adorned with straps on one side of her leg, ending in cowboy boots. Kat's appearance could be defined as a somewhat messy, 90s "grunge" style.
Personality.
She tends to be very lazy and does her best to avoid doing strenuous tasks. Her only goal is to make quick money and become a millionaire so she can live a life of luxury and comfort. She spends most of her time playing with the DARK RELICS she's supposed to protect, since she doesn't have much work as a KEEPER, so she does her best to avoid boredom.
She's classified as a "very powerful" Mage, but in truth, she's extremely cowardly and tends to panic very quickly. However, despite having these weaknesses, she usually compensates for them with her ability to "buy time" in complicated situations, using tactics such as lying, acting, or manipulating the situation to find a more favorable outcome. But if these tactics don't work, her only option is to run away and cry.
Despite being a coward and a failure, Kat has a rather kind side. She's willing to put herself in danger to protect innocent people and even prevent someone from dying if she has the opportunity to do so. She has a genuine concern for others, even more so for those who don't see her as a failed mage.
History.
Katherine was born into a very famous family of Fire Mages, known as the Bourne family, and was next in line to be a mage at birth, just like all of its members. As a child, she was spoiled, and every request she made was granted, even with the most luxurious gifts. As a result, Kat developed a rather spoiled and haughty personality toward her servants and her few school friends, but she was always seen as the pride of the family for being the new bearer of the Familiar Relic, FIREBALL.
When she reached the required age to begin her mage training, it was a hugely disappointing surprise for her family and herself to discover that Kat possessed no talent for magic, not even hand-to-hand combat. She failed every test miserably, bringing shame to her family, even more so due to the job of being the new successor to the family. Being seen as a failure, her family's views and attitudes toward her changed considerably. She was still a daughter to her mother and father, but in their eyes, disappointment and the future of the Bourne family were falling apart.
Seeing how her life changed so radically, affection and luxuries were gone, never to return. As a young adult, Kat decided to leave home to avoid being labeled a failure by her own family.
Having run away from home, more out of frustration and sadness than of her own free will, Kat was found by her uncle Simo, a family member who, like her, was also expelled, but with the difference that Simo was born without magical abilities, just a simple human. Upon arriving in a new home, her uncle would teach her a more humble life, one without many luxuries, but even more so, emotional stability for the hurt and abandoned Kat. In her new life, Kat would take on several jobs that wouldn't last long due to her clumsiness. But more than anything, she still had a strong need to prove that she could be the extraordinary magician her family had expected her to be. Seeing this, her Uncle Simo decided to support her (despite disagreeing), but on the condition that "she only do it for herself, and not for her family or anyone else."
Determined to try again and return to the luxurious life she once had, her Uncle Simo managed to contact an old friend, a successful businessman named Ras, who had recently acquired the private agency for the containment of supernatural phenomena (Monsters At The Gate), in order to get her a job as a low-ranking magician and start from the bottom. In her new job, Kat is taken to the secret facilities of "Monsters At The Gate", where, as a member of one of the most powerful mage families, she almost ended up as a GODKILLER, an exterminator of supernatural beings. However, upon revealing her history and status as a failed mage, her new boss, Ras, gave her the vacant position of RELICS KEEPER, her sole job being to safeguard and maintain the order of the GODKILLER'S relics.
Having arrived at a "supernatural agency," Kat promised herself that she would return to a luxurious and comfortable life, just for herself, despite being a failed mage working as a caretaker. Little did she know that upon arriving at that agency, her life would take her down paths she never expected.
Powers and Abilities.
Coming from a famous family of fire mages, Kat was expected to be the next head of the family, born a Mage as expected. Even more so when she was born with the ability to summon FIREBALL (the Centipede familiar), the BOURNE FAMILY'S FAMILY RELIC, something only intended for exceptional and extremely powerful mages. But the truth turned out to be different for the supposedly promising Fire Mage. Kat has no talent for sorcery or combat of any kind; all the gifts she should have received as a mage worked against her.
Fire Magic.
Kat can create very small fireballs, which she can only maintain for a few seconds before she burns herself. Her fire manipulation is so poor that she always ends up burning herself or anything around her, unable to control it.
Familiar Relic. FIREBALL.
The Bourne Family's magical manifestation and greatest pride, it is a centipede-shaped creature made of fire. In the hands of a professional and experienced magician, this Relic would unleash immense and unimaginable power to control fire and all its forms. But in Kat's hands, all it can do is summon a miniature version that can only block attacks or manifest small threads of fire, but it all ends in less than a minute. Possessing a sadly low percentage of power, it finally disappears, burned by its own flames.
Other Abilities.
Kat possesses no other abilities, nor hand-to-hand combat prowess. All she possesses by birth apart from her magic is physical resistance above the human average, capable of withstanding blows and impacts that would injure normal humans. But despite having zero battle attitudes, Kat possesses a great ability to plan and also analyze certain situations, being able to orchestrate ideas and strategies that can benefit her or others, being very skilled at speaking and lying if necessary.
Trivia.
Kat seems to have quite refined taste despite dressing quite messily, she greatly enjoys painting and classical music, her favorites are Claude Debussy and Erik Satie.
Kat dresses very differently from a high-society woman. This is due to the rebellious attitude she developed growing up, but also as a way to further separate herself from her family. That's why she opts for more "rebellious" clothing. The aviator jacket she owns was a gift from her uncle Simo, who was in the Air Force.
As the daughter of a wealthy family, she still has expensive and peculiar tastes. Her favorite food is French, specifically French toast.
She knows how to pilot planes.
Kat has excellent aim and is capable of throwing objects that hit targets several meters away.

Very nice. Both Kat’s profile, background and appearance has been reorganized and clean up. Despite the fire magic, she reads like a surprisingly normal, down on her luck individual who just hasn’t had her chance to prove her worth or found her place of belonging. It will be interesting to see where her journey leads her. Side note, I see she does get called Fire Cat and Katty, but does anyone call her “Kitty Kat”? 👀

I said it on Twitter and I'll say it again her new design looks good. Compared to her old green outfit this has more style to it. With her job being keeping watch over relic's she fits the look like a relic hunter. She gives off the vibe to her job. Can't wait to see how the other characters look
