You don't need to add it to the game folder. Making a mod still takes a lot of coding, event structure, music, testing among other things. These sets are released so you can enjoy the art early as the update takes weeks to complete. They also include bonus content exclusive for subscribers as not every image is used in the final game. It's a reward for supporters so you can enjoy high quality art while we work on the gameplay.

I'd say you're golden with this style you have achieved here with these updates, the animation looks much smoother than before as well even. Effort well spent, amazing job imo!
