Sims 4 - McDonald's food - improved & decorative
🕑 Added 2021-04-23 12:11:57 +0000 UTCAt some point, EA removes the possibility to buy ready-made food on restaurant lots, so I remade all my food as decor as well, so you can decorate your restaurants with, filling the displays, making the not used tables more living with some papers... All the foods come in filled & empty versions, in simlish and english.
I also remade all my edible food. So, you can't buy it from the Buy catalog anymore, but it's still compatible with the Custom Food and Custom Drinks mods (warning, the simlish soda will need an updated version of the Custom Drinks mod to be bought from fridge, it works fine in restaurant)
I've added a "has_meat" tag to make your vegetarian Sims sick when they eat meat (yeah, cruel, I know..), I've added calories to the Big Mac but removed some from the salad.
I've remade the texture of the fries that looked too red from far.
I've fixed a problem with the Simlish BigMac.
In restaurant menu, coffees will now appear as Hot Drinks.
Salad is now also categorized as Apetizer (and still as Meal)
EDIT of the 1st of May:
As some of you regretted the possibility to buy the food directly from the Buy Catalog, I've added another version of my food (called v.2). It says in the description to not buy from Buy Catalog in restaurant lots.... but you know what? It works. There's no Script error when bought from catalog in restaurants. I couldn't explain why, I've tried by all the possibilities this in v.1 and I had errors all the time... So... I'm leaving the warning because I don't know if it will work in your games.

That''s what I get in my game (I play in english). http://aroundthesims.online.fr/show/img/menu.jpg But if they were working better before, you can still download the old version at my site, I haven't replaced yet with the improved recipes. Do you use the english or the simlish nuggets?

I updated to v2 and they're still missing from the menu. I see them right in buy mode, but not at all in the menu setting portion. :'( Edit: so I did some looking and an xml "nugget box simlish" tuning is missing, I'm not sure if that could be one of the problems but maybe.

This is SO weird! I've just tried again, though I was sure to have triple-checked this, and indeed, for me, the nuggets appear (simlish & english), as main course, at 12§ (with a 100% priceà, so I have no idea why they wouldn't in your game. But just as I have no idea why I finally don't get the error I used to have. This game acts sometimes beyond my understanding. Try v2, eventually...

I can't seem to find the chicken nuggets in the restaurant menu anymore. They were there before the update, just with a churro thumbnail, but now I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Uploaded! The weirdest of everything is that I don't have that script error anymore in restaurant lots, but I don't understand why.... Anyway, you can now buy the food directly from the Buy Catalog again! :)

Well, I would like that, but I don't want to be greedy. I know you have a life outside of modding. But I do like being able to buy from the catalogue I do that more often then going to restaurants. I like both you and IceMum foods that my sims can just purchase, sort of like picking up deli on the way home.

Thinking more about it, I can make a version where you can buy them from the Buy Catalog and I can add a warning in the description to not use in Restaurants, to only use the decorative versions there. Would you like that ?

Yeah, I do the same, but I had to remove that option because if you used it on Restaurant lots, you would get a "script call failure" error. It was working on residential lots, though, but I can't allow that option for residential only. It's or it appears on Buy Catalog, or it doesn't. If you like better, you can still use the old versions of the food files (just remember to not use them in restaurants) I don't know why EA removed that option, it used to work fine. :/

But I like to buy food from the catalog. I like to use it as a take out option rather than having to cook everything.
