It depends, there are a few factors to consider. You need to be able to tell a story, and get into the characters head to come up with the dialogue. Plus, the visuals. Depending on what visuals you are using, it can make it a lot harder. Other than that tho, it's pretty straightforward, especially with programs like renpy. (Although I developed my own VN sim cause I wanted to lol) All-in-all, id say its one of the 'easier' things to do. Making a game with a fun, balanced, and in-depth system is a lot more challenging The reason I wanted to do a visual novel is because I wanted to learn how to make better stories, and be better at storytelling. Plus, The Heft Effect also teaches me 3D model designing which will help with later games

Now that CupCupMug is in the VN game, a VN around Agent Red discovering and dealing with the outbreak as a story-based take on "galactic gluttony" would be really cool.

I wasnt planning on saying anything yet, but since you brought it up, I mentioned in a previous post I was working on some 'secret' stuff. One of which is actually space themed. The 'stuff' is still behind lock-and-key, so I cant say much else yet
