Unfortunately, I wasn't done with EGSNP when this issue cropped up, and I didn't get anything more done while sounding various alarms and checking in with people. I don't want to stay up late to finish it, so I'm going to finish it for Thursday.
While a legitimate technical issue did come up, it's still my fault for doing things in an ill-advised order today (I worked on story comic things earlier in the day, and put off EGSNP). As such, this delay is still on me, and I apologize.

They are, in fact, great prognosticators. The certificate authority determines the date when you'll be least prepared to deal with the recert and apply that date and time (to the second) at the time they're issued.

SSL certificates wait until you let your guard down to expire. They can sense when you don't have time to deal with them!
