I genuinely wasn't consciously trying to imitate a certain shocked electric rodent, but after choosing that face for a preview image, I can't unsee it.

- Diane finding out about Grace's magic dreams
I originally figured I'd draw Diane dressed up like classic Sherlock Holmes (the most iconic version of him, anyway), but I wasn't really excited about it. I was just going with him as a visually recognizable detective.
Then I had the thought of ANOTHER visually recognizable detective, and THAT was Conan from Detective Conan / Case Closed.
Granted, plenty of people aren't going to know who that is, but I wanted to draw her like that, and so I did, and I really like it, and part of me wants to give her hair like that all the time now, and so on, and so forth.

Hercule Poirot would have been another great choice for detective, but the mustache might have been hard to pull off. Or hilarious. One of those.

Sorry, but Diane looks more like what I imagined a female Doctor Who SHOULD have looked like... Not that I disliked what we were given, but I kind of expected something more like this...
