Attempted Home Invasion | A Post | 1/21/2024
🕑 Added 2024-01-21 06:47:39 +0000 UTCEarlier tonight, a man tried to enter my apartment several times even after being told to go away. He was an ex of someone who lives with me who we have not seen in 5 years. I am a bit spooked.
Trying to be the man, I surveyed the exterior beyond my apartment in between his attempts. Somehow, he recognized me and asked if I was related to the person who lives with me. I never met him before and wondered how he could have recognized me. I was reminded that he used to stalk my family and that is how he would have recognized me. I responded, "No," to him and he told me, "You lying." I was lying. Failing to do anything, I realized I should have sent my brother out. I came back home only after he tried to get in again and then we called the cops. He left before the cops arrived, but my brother got him leaving on video. The cops came and asked us a few question and we showed them the footage of his car, him, and his license plate.
The cops left and said they'd try to find him. I doubt they have succeeded at this point.
I have been acting brave and charismatic, but the truth is I am scared. Or I was. Acting a little crazy is my psychological defense mechanism I have had since middle school. The oldest male of the house is me, but I think we all know that doesn't mean much. I am unable to protect myself and lose my mind a little to cope. Sometimes I wish we had a paternal figure in my house to protect us, which I know is rooted in traditionalism, but it is how I feel. When I get scared my mind tells me to hide behind a strong male.
I want y'all to know I am okay. I dwink da copium.
