Gou's main "monkey" features are apparently his side burns and his new tail. His side burns are covered by the cloth and he's facing us, so his tail can't be seen right now.

I suppose that works. It just seems a little odd that any of them would be reacting with aggression at this point. Xinghua already knows about Gou and Jin. While she certainly cares about Bi De, they never seemed especially close, at least not in a "This Young Mistress will kill the living fuck out of whatever did this to our lovely chicken-boy!"
