The rumors going around the Red Keep seemed to have some validity, in that there really was a betrothal in the works between Princess Arianne and himself. It only took a haggard looking Ned Stark returning from a small council meeting to inform him of such.
According to Ned, the betrothal was akin to a neat bow being put over the disaster involving the Mountain and Littlefinger. There was much fear of what Tywin Lannister’s reaction would be to Clegane’s demise, and combined with Oberyn Martell’s unruly actions in the melee, the realm was starting to tread a dangerous path. As such, the small council was desperately trying to fix the situation, and not have the realm fall into chaos like Littlefinger would have liked.
And it just so happened a betrothal between House Martell and House Stark would solve all their problems, or to be more specific; a betrothal between Arianne and himself. Such a union would link Dorne more strongly to the rest of the realm, all the while the incident with Clegane would be pushed under the rug and forgotten.
All of it just left Harry in a situation he found both amusing and very fitting to his character. All he had to do was marry Arianne Martell to stop the realm from imploding.
The seriousness of the situation was somewhat lost on Harry, yet Ned Stark was genuinely concerned about all of it. And because of his uncle’s concern, a horde of Stark guards had shown up as protection for his and Arianne’s first date.
It was weird to see so many men-at-arms guarding a bastard of all people, but Harry could understand where his uncle was coming from. Arianne Martell was one of the most important people in the realm, necessitating security at all times, and combined with the fact that both Littlefinger and the Mountain had tried to kill him…

She followed him down the stairs, into the keep itself and around a corner before he stopped. Harry then reached into his pocket before pulling out a special item he had made himself. Reminiscent of his past life, Harry had managed to get his hands on an invisibility cloak. “Harry, what is-” She inquired from behind him, staring at the translucent cloak with a bewildered expression. Her eyes went to his own then, before widening as he stared intently at her.
“You need to understand something, Arianne.” His eyes seemed to faintly glow with power in that moment, knowing that he was about to expose a part of himself to her. “I am not what you expect I am.”
He threw the invisibility cloak over the both of them in that moment, right as a group of guards turned the corner in their search for them.

“You have played your part better than I could’ve possibly imagined.” Olenna Tyrell complimented her sincerely. “Robert Baratheon has little choice other than to wed his heir to you, my dear. The relations between the Crown and the Lannisters is sure to sour after this latest scandal, and the Reach will then step in to provide when Tywin Lannister cannot.”
A plan was beginning to form in her mind as she sat there, listening to Olenna talk about her becoming Queen. As much as Margaery wanted to be Queen, she simply did not want to lose Harry. And yet, Harry was to be wed to Arianne Martell, meaning she would need an excuse for him to stay in King’s Landing.
It meant that Harry would need some sort of position in the Red Keep, one powerful enough to keep him and Arianne anchored to King’s Landing. That meant a position on the small council, which could possibly be arranged. As for Arianne, a spot as one of Margaery’s handmaidens might suffice as cover.
“And what of the marriage between Princess Arianne and Harry?” She asked, trying not to reveal her true feelings on the matter. “Are they to live in Dorne?”
Olenna hummed. “Unless the girl wishes to spend the rest of her days in the dreadful cold, then it is likely. Although I hear Doran doesn’t wish for her to succeed him, instead wanting Quentyn Martell to do so. As for now, it seems uncertain where they’ll end up entirely.”
