I love reading an author's commentary, but you don't have to write something every time if you don't feel like it. Sometimes you just don't have anything to add or comment on, and that's totally ok. The pages can speak for themselves :)

I LOVE reading descriptions, comments, and commentary from great artists. It's why I love artbooks so much! Definitely don't force yourself to add anything if it wouldn't be fun for you to do or if it would be a chore to write, but I love reading about everything from comments on the page and its characters, all the way to notes about development and production. ^.^
Personally, I like it when the author adds their commentary, but you do whatever makes you most comfortable.
