The lore is that when you combine a human and mythical creature you sometimes will get a witch. Which is a half human/half mythical creature with really strong magical powers. Callie being a witch limits her ability to hide her features which is why callie always has her ears and tails out, she physically cannot hide them. It doesn't affect her ability to get pregnant though. Callie and Olive are actually the only couple from MDGF who canonically will have a kid!
