What I was going to say

Jose Feliciano did a very nice cover of this song.

A note about The Doors movie. I interviewed Grace Slick (singer for the Jefferson Airplane) who was a friend of Jim’s. She said Oliver Stone’s movie was a complete BS hack job that ill served the legacy of Morrison.

Classic live take that unfortunately eviscerates the classic studio recording. It has the extended organ solo you were pining for.
John Christopher xcronex
Back in the day there weren’t very many live performances and especially ones filmed so well … this is definitely a classic
David Diesbourg
On the ed sullivan show The doors were told not to say we couldn't get much higher, and to change the lyrics, because of drug reference. He's said it anyways and got banned from the ed sullivan show. The rolling stones change there lyrics from.Let's spend the night together to let's spend some time together.

Probably the most popular Doors song and again one of the greatest bands ever …Jim Morrison was a great frontman…..checkout the Doors movie with Val Kilmer 💜
Stephen Ulmer
Yes Amber please check out the long album version of this song. It's so much better 😊
Parallel Parker
Actually my father liked this one…
Patty Estrada
Amber check out HEROES DEL SILENCIO “ Entre Dos Tierras”. They are a spanish rock band, and their lead singer Enrique Bunbury always gives spanish Jim Morrison vibes.
Meryl Lim
You should definitely check out the full version of "Light My Fire" on The Doors debut album. It is over 7 minutes long and has the extended keyboard solo and a very psychedelic vibe.
Andrew Ramos
Amber, Jim was also very intelligent. If you want to add interviews to your content I suggest this ten minute video on YouTube: All I’m Offering Is the Truth - Jim Morrison’s Eye Opening Message to Young People. It's profound and still applies to today. Even if you don't react to it you should watch it on your own (but I would love for you to find a space to discuss the intellect behind all the music you react to. I feel it would be right up your alley).

Hey Amber, I love that you're so into the Doors. I think they're my favorite band of all time. No matter how old I get, I can always listen to Jim Morrison and his friends. When I was a teenager, I tried to look like him, with the long hair and leather jacket. Must have worked, because the ladies seemed to want to hang around with me. The funny thing is, when my mom got mad once and started smashing my records, she went after my Fleetwood Mac records, but she left the Doors because, I think, she secretly liked Jim Morrison too. Anyway, love your reaction. (When's that last season of Breaking Bad coming out, though?) Keep rockin', young lady.

Higher - got them banned from American tv

Pssst....I love Elegantly Wasted.

Also!!! Keep Morrison in mind and watch INXS' Michael Hutchence. They moved alike on stage. That last side lean he did I saw Michael do a million times. They both exuded raw sensuality.

Amber, one of these days you have to check out "The Doors" movie. Remember how much you loved Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday in Tombstone? Well, Kilmer plays Jim Morrison in the movie and he absolutely nailed it.
Rowan
Add The Doors with Val Kilmer to the list. You'll love it.

Probably one of my least favorite Doors songs, yet at the same time without this song becoming popular there may have been no Doors songs to love.

Yummmmmmm..... this mans voice rocks me to sleep.
