I remember hearing this song for the first time as a kid from The New Guy

Recommend 'Atomic Dog' by George Clinton

That’s awesome!

When I was little, my dad, used to play this cassette in our car and we be jamming out! The whole album is awesome.😎 it was the 90s and I remember thinking this music was so old. But it would’ve been equivalent to listening to a 2000 song now so I retract my statement from back then😂🤣🤣

1976 the year I graduated. This band uses to play all the small clubs and bars in Western PA where I grew up! Got to meet them and party with them in 1978 or 79 in SW Ohio. Crazy , but love this band. Some great songs, but this is their biggest!!!! Definitely some funky white boys! Rob Parisi was awesome!! 😂 ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sourpuss

You’ll love the music video of it, and it is a white boy with with an awesome band, and you’ll love the guys on the horn

OMG! My coworkers and I do crazy eyes at each other with the whip sound effect and the gasps! 🤣

If you like funky you should check out Little Feat "Spanish Moon" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwESiisp27U

I was....ummm... just a wee lass. Maybe 5 months old? Depending on the month. I still jam it. My neighbors were looking at me weird while I was jamming to this today.

Rowan

Aw... c'mon. 😁 There's always Ice Ice Baby. I don't care what anyone says. You KNOW that song was blasting at parties that year.

Rowan

Yes! I have a horrible memory, I'm patting myself on the back for getting that close! I love his crazy eye in the movie. That whip sound. 🤣🤣🤣

Not to give away my age (though I guess you can figure it out), I was a Freshman in college in the fall of 1976 and everyday at noon, a guy on my floor would come home, turn up his stereo to max volume, and blast this song. Because of that, this has always had a special place in my heart and I have to turn up the volume when it comes on. It is also worth noting this is somewhat autobiographical -- one of the band members (White Cherry is a group of White men from Ohio) was playing live, they were a funk band, and someone shouted "Play that funky music, White Boy" -- and he wrote a song about it.

As a former white boy (now man) I absolutely love this song and its tongue-in-cheek humor. I must confess to not being quite as enamored with the Vanilla Ice cover.
