Ah yes, I miss the days of DVD mailings, Blockbuster video trips with the loved ones. Now, its all streaming spread out over hundreds of dollars worth of services, 90% of which is crap. Own nothing and like it right. :P

Netflix started out as a DVD movie rental company that shipped the DVDs to your home. Streaming was limited then.

I had Netflix in University. Went online, chose my movies and they mailed the DVD's. Watched them, mailed them back and they sent more. It was pretty great back in the day. Lol

Similar idea but that was Redbox. Netflix sent DVDs thru the mail to your house.

In regard to the cold open scene, before Netflix was what they are today, they use to be a service where they would send you a movie DVD you could watch at home, and then you’d have to send it back to Netflix when you were finished. Crazy, right?
