I actually lived in Kazakhstan when this movie came out. I brought a copy back with me and showed it to my Kazak friends. They were not amused. But it really is the epitome of satire.

"this almost seems real" many scenes were staged like reality tv and they just recorded peoples reactions so your right! In the scene with Pamela for instance she knew it was going to happen but fans trying to save her actually slightly injured her and the whole thing caused a riff between her and current husband Kid Rock.

The boys in the RV had lawsuits after the film blew up for defamation or something along those lines. This movie is beyond brilliant satire. SBC is amazing at keeping in character. So smart interacting with strangers and seeing what happens when you push the limits to the extreme. Truly Epic Comedy

Borat is uncomfortable, but hilarious, in a perfect mix.
