lmao legit! Thank you for this. It literally was something I was only familiar with from the "white guys having miserable times in the Yukon" Jack London ass books my dad read me when I was little. So this was super informative and interesting! (And lol of course a stolen concept and corrupted spelling). 🙌🏽
I'm making a comment for episode 47 here, only because white dudes stealing credit for indigenous language & technology bugs me enough that I'd post a comment on the youtube video if I could lol. I'm pretty sure quinzee comes from the Dene word for house because that's the way they make snow shelters? I've seen it spelled kuęze in Chipewyan dialect, but I know there's few roman orthographies for Dene, which are also a bit different from the ones for Cree, even though we use most of the same syllabics. (I'm Métis and learning Cree)
