Just the thought of learning magic filled Izuku with a sense of wonder and possibility. After years of being told he couldn't become a hero due to his Quirklessness, this newfound path offered him a glimmer of hope.
As the teacher droned on at the front of the class, Izuku discreetly opened his new notebook, the cover emblazoned with the words "Mage Analysis No.1". With a pensive expression, he began jotting down notes and sketches, his pencil moving quickly across the page.
He started by meticulously documenting the Garuda Plamonster he had witnessed Yuto summon, carefully detailing its mechanical design and the way it had transformed before his eyes. Izuku's eyes shone with fascination as he replayed the scene in his mind, eager to learn more about the intricacies of magic.
Next, he turned his attention to Yuto himself, sketching the young man's features and the distinctive red and black coat he wore. Izuku wondered about the nature of Yuto's magical abilities, and what it meant to be a "mage" in this world where Quirks had become the norm.
As he continued filling the pages of his notebook, Izuku's excitement grew. He couldn't wait to meet with Yuto again, to ask questions and learn more about the world of magic that had been hidden from him. The prospect of unlocking his own magical potential filled him with a sense of determination he hadn't felt in years.
The school bell finally rang, signaling the end of the day. Izuku hurriedly gathered his belongings, eager to rush out the door and find Yuto.
Izuku's phone buzzes in his pocket, and he quickly pulls it out to find a message from Yuto. "Meet me at Hungry," it reads, and Izuku's heart races with anticipation.
Without hesitation, Izuku rushes out of the school gates, his backpack bouncing against his back as he navigates the busy streets. The thought of learning more about magic and his newfound potential fills him with a sense of purpose, pushing him to move faster.
As Izuku turns the corner, the familiar sign of Donut Shop Hungry comes into view. He slows his pace, taking a moment to catch his breath before pushing through the door, the bell chiming to announce his arrival.
Izuku's eyes scan the cozy shop, and he spots Yuto sitting at a table, eating a Chocolate-glazed doughnut. Yuto looks up and waves Izuku over, a warm smile on his face.
Izuku greets Yuto for a good afternoon. "Good afternoon, Yuto-san," he says, his voice brimming with enthusiasm.
Yuto looks up from his doughnut and gives Izuku a warm smile. "Good afternoon, Izuku. I'm glad you could make it." He gestures to the empty seat across from him. "Please, have a seat."
Izuku quickly slides into the chair, his eyes shining with excitement. Yuto notices the young man's eagerness and chuckles softly.
"I can see you're very eager to learn more about magic," Yuto observes. "That's good. It means you're ready to take this journey seriously."
Izuku blushes slightly, suddenly self-conscious about his obvious enthusiasm. "I-I am, Yuto-san. I can't wait to start my training. There's still so much I don't understand, but I'm ready to work hard and become a mage."
Yuto nods approvingly. "I'm glad to hear that, Izuku." He pauses for a moment, then adds, "From now on, though, I'd like you to call me Yuto-sensei or simply Sensei. As your teacher, I want to make sure you understand the respect and dedication required for this path."
Izuku's eyes widen, and he nods quickly. "Of course, Yuto-sensei!" he says, his voice filled with reverence.
Yuto smiles, pleased with Izuku's response. "Good. Now, let's discuss what your training will entail. As a mage, you'll need to learn not only the fundamentals of magic, but also how to protect yourself and others from the dangers of the Phantoms."
Yuto leaned back in his chair, his gaze fixed intently on Izuku. "Before you can start using magic, I need to make sure you have a strong foundation to build upon," he said, his tone serious.
Izuku's brow furrowed in confusion. "But Yuto-sensei, I thought we'd start with the magic training right away. I'm eager to learn how to use those amazing powers I saw you use against the Phantom."
Yuto shook his head gently. "I understand your enthusiasm, Izuku, but the path of a mage requires more than just wielding magic." He paused, taking a sip of his coffee. "First, we need to focus on strengthening your physical body."
Izuku's shoulders slumped slightly. "My body? But I thought being a mage was all about using magic, not physical training."
"That's where you're mistaken," Yuto replied, leaning forward. "Fighting Phantoms requires more than just magical prowess. You need to have the physical strength and endurance to withstand their attacks and, in some cases, fight for long periods of time."
Izuku's eyes widened as Yuto's words sank in. "I-I see. So even though I'll be learning magic, I still need to work on my physical fitness?"
Yuto nodded. "Precisely. Magic can enhance your abilities, but it won't be effective if your base strength is lacking." He paused, his gaze softening. "Izuku, tell me, do you truly want to become a hero?"
Izuku felt a pang of shame as the question hung in the air. "Of course I do, Yuto-sensei. It's been my dream for as long as I can remember."
Yuto let out a soft sigh. "Then you should have been training your body all along, even without a Quirk. Being a hero, or a mage, requires discipline and dedication."
Izuku's cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "I-I know, Yuto-sensei. I just... I always thought that without a Quirk, I could never be a hero. But now, with your help, I have a chance. I don't want to waste it."
Yuto reached across the table, placing a reassuring hand on Izuku's shoulder. "I understand, Izuku. That's why we'll start your training immediately. We'll build up your physical strength and endurance, and then we can begin exploring the depths of your magical potential."
Yuto nodded, his expression serious. "Izuku, I need to confirm something with you. The U.A. entrance exam is in 10 months, correct?"
Izuku's eyes widened, and he nodded eagerly. "Yes, Yuto-sensei. The exam is in 10 months."
Yuto leaned back in his chair, a determined look on his face. "Good. That gives us just enough time." He locked eyes with Izuku, his gaze unwavering. "I promise you, Izuku, that by the end of those 10 months, you will be a mage."
Izuku felt a surge of excitement and trepidation. "A mage? In 10 months? But Yuto-sensei, is that even possible?"
Yuto raised a hand, silencing Izuku's doubts. "It will be, but only if you are willing to push yourself to the absolute limit." He paused, his expression softening. "I believe in you, Izuku. I've seen the fire in your heart, the determination that burns within you. If anyone can do this, it's you."
Izuku felt a lump in his throat, overwhelmed by Yuto's faith in him. "I-I won't let you down, Yuto-sensei. I'll work harder than I ever have before. I'll become a mage, and then I'll pass the U.A. entrance exam and become a hero!"
Yuto nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "That's the spirit, Izuku. Let's get started, shall we?"
Izuku eagerly nodded, his eyes shining with determination. "Yes, Yuto-sensei! I'm ready to start my training."
Yuto smiled approvingly and stood up from the table. "Excellent. Let's head to the gym and get started."
The two made their way to a nearby fitness center, the bustling sounds of weights clanging and treadmills whirring filling the air. Yuto led Izuku to a secluded corner of the gym, away from the prying eyes of other patrons.
"Alright, Izuku," Yuto began, his tone serious. "We're going to focus on building up your overall physical strength and endurance."
Izuku listened intently, his body thrumming with anticipation. Yuto proceeded to guide him through a series of exercises, starting with basic calisthenics.
Pushups, squats, and lunges had Izuku's muscles burning within minutes. His breathing grew labored, and sweat began to bead on his forehead, but Yuto's unwavering encouragement spurred him on.
"Keep going, Izuku," Yuto said, his own body moving in sync with his student's. "Don't give up. This is just the beginning."
Izuku gritted his teeth, his determination fueling him to push through the discomfort. As they moved on to weightlifting and agility drills, Izuku found himself struggling more than he ever had before.
The young man's limbs felt like lead, and his core ached with every movement. There were moments when he wanted to collapse, but Yuto's steady presence and words of support kept him going.
"You're doing well, Izuku," Yuto said, his voice calm and reassuring. "Listen to your body, but don't let it stop you. This is all part of the process."
Izuku nodded, his face flushed with exertion. By the time their session drew to a close, his body was drenched in sweat, and every muscle felt like it was on the verge of giving out.
As Izuku bent over, his hands on his knees, he couldn't help but feel like he was dying.
Izuku was wheezing and trying to catch his breath. The intense workout had pushed his body to its limits, and he could feel the soreness setting in. As he bent over, hands on his knees, he looked up at Yuto, a pleading expression on his face.
"Yuto-sensei, I don't know if I can keep going," Izuku panted, his chest heaving.
Yuto placed a reassuring hand on Izuku's shoulder. "I know it's tough, but we're not done yet. Come on, let's go for a run around the neighborhood."
Izuku's eyes widened in dismay. "A run? But Yuto-sensei, I feel like I'm about to collapse."
Yuto gave him an encouraging smile. "Trust me, Izuku. This is all part of your training. The more you push yourself, the stronger you'll become."
Izuku sighed, knowing there was no point in arguing. He straightened up and nodded, bracing himself for the impending torture.
The two made their way out of the gym and onto the quiet neighborhood streets. Yuto set a steady pace, his breathing calm and controlled. Izuku, on the other hand, felt like he was about to wheeze his way into oblivion.
With each step, Izuku's lungs burned, and his legs felt like they were made of lead. He struggled to keep up with Yuto, his face contorted in a mask of exhaustion.
Yuto glanced back, his expression filled with empathy. "Don't worry, Izuku. Just focus on your breathing and keep moving. You're doing great."
Izuku wanted to protest, but he didn't have the energy. Instead, he forced himself to put one foot in front of the other, his entire body protesting with every stride.
Izuku huffed and panted as he struggled to keep up with Yuto's steady pace. Desperate to take his mind off the burning in his muscles, he turned to his teacher with a curious expression.
"Yuto-sensei," he managed between breaths, "how exactly do you use magic? I saw you transform into Wizard, but I don't understand how it works."
Yuto glanced back at his student, a small smile playing on his lips. "Ah, a very good question, Izuku," he replied, his voice calm and even. "The key to using magic lies in the Wizardriver and the Magic Rings."
Izuku's eyes widened with interest, and he found a renewed burst of energy to keep up with Yuto's pace.
"The Wizardriver is a special belt that I wear," Yuto explained, "and it's powered by my own magical energy. When I scan a Magic Ring over the belt, it activates the corresponding spell or transformation."
Izuku nodded eagerly, his mind racing with questions. "And the different rings, like the ones you used against the Phantom - what do they do?"
"Each ring grants me access to a specific magical ability," Yuto replied. "The Flame Ring, for example, allows me to control and manipulate fire. The Water Ring gives me mastery over water-based magic."
Izuku's eyes grew wider with every word, his exhaustion momentarily forgotten. "That's incredible! So you can just switch between different elemental powers?"
Yuto chuckled. "Precisely. The versatility of the Magic Rings is what makes me an effective mage against the Phantoms. I can adapt to any situation and use the right magic for the job."
Izuku marveled at the explanation, his mind racing with the implications. "And you're going to teach me how to use all of this?" he asked, his voice filled with a mixture of excitement and trepidation.
"That's right, Izuku," Yuto replied, his tone reassuring. "But first, we need to make sure you have the physical strength and endurance to handle the demands of being a mage. That's why we're focusing on your training right now."
Izuku nodded, his determination renewed. The prospect of learning to wield such incredible magic fueled his resolve, and he found a newfound energy to push through the rest of their run.
