"Well, well. Look who it is."
The familiar voice sent a chill down Riku's spine. He turned slowly, coming face-to-face with the thugs from earlier. The leader, a burly man with a scar across his cheek, grinned menacingly.
"Fancy meeting you here, stranger," the thug drawled. "Why don't you come with us? We've got some unfinished business."
Riku's mind raced. He was still in his Vanguard form, hidden beneath the cloak. He had power now. He didn't need to be afraid.
"Lead the way," Riku said, his voice steady and low.
The thugs exchanged surprised glances, clearly thrown off by his calm demeanor. They led him through winding alleys, deeper into the abandoned subway system. The sounds of the Nexus faded, replaced by the drip of water and the echo of their footsteps.
Finally, they stopped in a dimly lit chamber. Old subway cars loomed in the shadows, covered in graffiti and rust.
The leader turned, cracking his knuckles. "Alright, tough guy. Time to see what you're hiding under that cloak."
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Riku warned, his voice carrying a confidence he'd never felt before.
The thug laughed. "Oh yeah? And why's that?"
"Because you're about to make a big mistake."
The leader's face twisted in anger. He lunged forward, grabbing for Riku's cloak. In one fluid motion, Riku stepped back and let the cloak fall away, revealing the gleaming armor of his Vanguard form.
The thugs stumbled back, eyes wide with shock.
"What the hell?" one of them gasped.
Riku stood tall, the Gaio armor humming with power. "Last chance. Walk away now."
Riku watched as the leader, recovering from his surprise, snarled and ordered his men to attack. They charged, fists raised, but Riku moved with inhuman speed. He ducked under the first punch and countered with a swift kick to the attacker's midsection, sending the man flying back to crash into an old subway car with a resounding clang.
Two more thugs came at him from opposite sides, but Riku leaped impossibly high, causing them to collide beneath him. He landed gracefully as they crumpled to the ground, groaning.
The leader, eyes wild with fear and rage, pulled out a knife. "What are you?" he growled.
Riku didn't answer, simply standing there and waiting. The thug charged, slashing wildly, but Riku dodged each attack effortlessly, the knife whistling harmlessly past his armor.
In a blur of motion, Riku grabbed the man's wrist, twisting until the knife clattered to the ground. He lifted the thug off his feet with one hand, the man's feet dangling helplessly. "Listen carefully," Riku said, his voice low and dangerous. "You're going to leave here and forget you ever saw me. If I hear about you causing trouble for anyone else, I'll find you. Understand?"
The thug nodded frantically, gasping for air. Riku set him down, and the man scrambled away, followed closely by his battered companions.
As their footsteps faded into the distance, Riku let out a long breath. He looked down at his armored hands, still buzzing with adrenaline and power. It had been so easy. Too easy, maybe. He shook his head, pushing away the unsettling thought.
Riku retrieved his cloak, wrapping it around himself once more. He needed to get home, to process everything that had happened. As he made his way back through the tunnels, a mix of exhilaration and unease churned in his gut. The power of the Gaio Driver was incredible, but it was also dangerous. He'd have to be careful, now more than ever.

As he neared the exit, Riku sighed with relief. Almost out, almost safe. He quickened his pace, eager to leave this shadowy world.
Riku didn't see the eyes watching from a nearby stall. Didn't catch the hybrid's nod of recognition, or Hiroshi's calculating gaze.
Oblivious, Riku stepped out into the abandoned subway station. The stale air gave way to the crisp night breeze. He took a deep breath, feeling the tension ease.
Riku walked home, thinking about what to do next. The money would buy better gear. He could hunt tougher Hollows. Each step felt good.

Intricate tapestries adorned the walls, depicting ancient battles and mythical creatures. Display cases held artifacts of immense value - glowing crystals, ornate weapons, and arcane tomes that seemed to whisper secrets.

Silvia looked up from the documents she was studying, her piercing green eyes locking onto Hiroshi. She was a woman of striking beauty, with violet hair that cascaded down her back in soft waves. Her movements were graceful and deliberate as she set aside her work.
Hiroshi approached Silvia's desk, bowing slightly. "My lady, we had an interesting visitor to the Bazaar today. A young man, cloaked and mysterious. He sold us something quite remarkable."
Silvia leaned forward, her piercing green eyes filled with intrigue. "Go on."
"Ancient Arbor wood and crystals, my lady. High quality, and a significant quantity. The kind of haul you'd expect from a team of experienced E-rank Hunters, not a lone individual."
Silvia's eyebrows raised slightly. "Intriguing. And you believe he acquired these items himself?"
Hiroshi nodded. "I do. There was something about him... a confidence, perhaps. And when he arrived, his cloak was singed and torn in places. It looked like he had been in a serious fight."
Silvia stood and moved to a nearby window, gazing out over the sprawling expanse of the Nexus below. The view was an illusion, but the magical projection was flawless.
"A lone Hunter taking down an Ancient Arbor," she mused. "That's no small feat. Did you notice anything else unusual about him?"
Hiroshi hesitated for a moment. "There was... a presence about him. Something I couldn't quite place. And when he moved, there was a faint sound, like metal shifting. I suspect he may have been wearing some kind of armor beneath his cloak."
Hiroshi watched as Silvia turned back to face him, her eyes gleaming with interest. "Mysterious armor, you say? Now that is interesting. Did you get a name?"
"No, my lady," Hiroshi replied, his voice measured and calm. "He was cautious, kept to himself. But he was young, probably no more than twenty. He seemed... new to all this. The wealth clearly overwhelmed him."
Silvia nodded slowly, processing the information. She moved to a nearby shelf, running her fingers along the spines of ancient books. "A young, powerful Hunter with mysterious armor, capable of taking down E-rank bosses alone. And he's selling his spoils on the black market." She plucked a small, ornate box from the shelf and opened it, revealing a glowing crystal. "How interesting."
Hiroshi watched as Silvia examined the crystal, its light reflecting in her eyes. "What would you like me to do, my lady?"
Silvia closed the box with a soft click. "Keep your eyes open. If our mysterious friend returns, I want to know about it immediately. And see if you can discreetly gather any information about new Hunters making waves in the city. Someone with that kind of power won't stay hidden for long."
"Of course, my lady," Hiroshi bowed again. "Is there anything else?"
Silvia returned to her desk, her mind already racing with possibilities. "That will be all for now, Hiroshi. Thank you for bringing this to my attention."
As Hiroshi turned to leave, Silvia called out once more. "Oh, and Hiroshi? Let's keep this information to ourselves for now. I have a feeling our cloaked friend might be very valuable indeed."
Hiroshi nodded, his expression unreadable. "As you wish, my lady." With that, he turned and made his way out of the room, his mind already whirring with possibilities. This mysterious Hunter had certainly piqued Silvia's interest, and Hiroshi knew that when Silvia was intrigued, it was best to tread carefully.
