If that was a thing that could happen, Where you could have such a big Blindspot in your understanding of the dao that you could destroy it wouldn’t it have already happened to him? To advance and get the tree in the first place he had to examine his dao from every single scenario. How did this happen?

My musclehead MC can't possibly be this introspective. This is a pretty good plot point that addresses a potential plot-hole (the Logical imperfections in the Dao of Jack Rust). Does the Dao define the cultivator? Or vice versa? I think the cultivator defines the Dao here. What exactly separates an A rank from a plain old mortal? From what we have seen of the real A ranks (boatman, spoon, etc) there doesn't seem to be any real difference under the hood honestly. Give the dirt farmer infinite power, and he still had the basic mentality of any A rank we've seen. Petty, human social structures still seem to dominate these guys minds. Why does a million year old care if a passing mayfly wags his finger at him? Is this clinging to mortal cares how they stay grounded in reality when they have so long to live that life becomes basically meaningless? How is this expressed through the Dao? The Dao of Jack Rust is ostensibly a Dao that can be practiced by others right? If Jack reaches giga-archon levels of cultivation, does that mean his DAO is now more advanced? More meaningful. I don't think it's all that deep in this setting. But I think it's interesting to ponder the implications of cultivators almost crippling obsession with the respect of other men. In this setting, nobody seems to want to cultivate to truly understand the world, themselves, and their place in it. And ironically focus MORE on mortal concerns the more advanced they get.
