If you don't have any problems with self hosting and know how to set it up then Perforce should be fine for you. Most people though don't know how to do that and really don't wanna deal with it either. In that case diversion is much easier to set up.

Compare to Perforce how is it? Perforce is quite easy and can be installed in a small homeserver for local revisioncontrol for free for solo devs.
