Goodbye For Now

I have spent the past several months trying to put together the right words. I am sorry I hadn't posted this sooner but even now I have anxiety about typing this out and being this vulnerable with everyone. Being separate from creating content on Youtube during this time has forced me to face how truly burned out I had become. On and off for the duration of four years I spent on Youtube has caused a lot of deterioration to my mental health.
I don't feel comfortable laying out all the personal details of what had been going on behind-the-scenes. In short, being a content creator on Youtube was an incredibly isolating and toxic experience for me. The stress I received from the site and pressure I put on myself finally caused me to lose my enjoyment of making videos.
After much deliberation, I have decided I am officially quitting creating video essays/reviews on Youtube. It was not an easy decision to come to, but quitting has released so much stress and added anxiety from my life. I have found other avenues to create through and hopefully I will be able to share it on social media by next year.
I am in a much healthier and happier place now though. I have a full-time job in my desired industry that I enjoy and have job security with. I also have a Twitch channel (katelikesmovies) that ended up being a blessing in disguise. Twitch is not a perfect platform but it has sparked my joy and made me fall back in love with video games and creating.
I will continue to stream on Twitch if anyone wants to come chat in my live hangouts with me while I play games. I know it’s not the same kind of content so I more than understand if this is where we part ways. I will be keeping up the majority of my videos on my old channel (the ones that don’t get blocked or copyright claimed at least) so they are always there to rewatch if you’d like.
I just want to thank all my patrons from the bottom of my heart who supported my content and I’m sorry for having to cut my Xena series short. I appreciate those of you who stuck around and enjoyed my work. While I may be closing this chapter on my life for good, I can’t say I have only regrets. I met some really amazing people and obtained opportunities through it that changed my life for the better. And for that I am eternally grateful.

Not sure if you're checking the Patreon at all anymore, but I just went to check to see if there was a new Xena video and saw that the YouTube page was gone... which lead me to this post. Just wanted to thank you again for giving me a reminder of why I liked Xena and while I'm sad you won't finish your retrospective, I completely understand why you needed to stop and do something else. I don't get the chance to watch Twitch livestrams that often but I'll check it out when I get the chance. Good luck with your future projects. You can tell from your recent social media posts just how happy you are. I have to take this opportunity to ask you a very important question! Where did you get the Jennifer’s Body phone background you posted on social media a few weeks ago from? The artwork was really cool and I have a friend who would love it.
