🕑 Added 2023-08-31 15:00:07 +0000 UTCHi guys! I want to inform you that I decided to postpone adding new potions for now, and instead work on a Hostile AI. At the moment, I have managed to fix the player jumping on the AI, as well as add a full-fledged hearing and viewing angles to the AI. And by the way, from September I plan to start working on more global tasks, but I will write about this at the end of devlog.
And by the way, guys, I'm planning to unpublish my patreon page in mid-September, so it's better not to renew your subscription for the next month, although in any case I will make a refund for everyone for September. I'm sorry.
Fixed the problem of a player colliding with a hostile AI when the AI can lift the player onto his back:
- Added a player sliding off surfaces at a large angle;
- The player's sliding off NPCs and hostile AI has also been worked out so that the player cannot stand on other characters;
- Increased the collision height of some hostile AI to make it harder for the player to jump on them;
Updated the Hostile AI player detection system. Now the AI sees the player when he gets into the radius of visibility or makes loud noises:
- Hostile AI now has viewing angles and hearing. The speed of detection (visual) is affected by how close the player is to the enemy, as well as the Stealth skill level;
- The player creates sound waves when moving and jumping. If the sound wave reaches the enemy, then he goes into a state of aggression. The sound wave length is affected by the speed of movement, as well as the Stealth skill level;
Next month I plan to start working on finalizing and expanding the story:
After reading some feedback about story, I noticed that the beginning needs to be replaced a little, because the presentation of the plot in the style of "We saved you and now you owe us" doesn't look quite logical, so I'll have to change the presentation a little and give the player more choice in terms of whether to help village or not.
I also plan to increase the number of quests, and especially add new quests related to improving the village. Yes, and it is necessary to expand the quest lines associated with the inhabitants in order to reveal more of their background, character and more smoothly bring them to the love line.
