I love that you're noticing the unconventional framing and cinematography! Isn't it fantastic! The director of cinematography Tod Campbell has discussed his thought process in detail through multiple articles / interviews and it's honestly fascinating to me. This is a bit of a broad summarisation but basically Campbell was really big on creating a sense of discomfort in the viewer. He wanted the audience to see through Elliot's eyes. He'd often place characters at the far side / corner of the screen in conversations so the viewer couldn't discern the amount of distance, both physically (and emotionally) between them. The negative space / backgrounds emphasising a sense of loneliness, isolation, and disempowerment. (Vulture article & ShotDeck go into much more detail on this.) Really looking forward to catching the next one! It's been a little while but I remember 1x6 being one of my personal favourite episodes!

This episode made me think about how much I love the female characters in this show: Angela, Shayla, and especially Darlene. Another fab reaction! I truly felt like this show was a true MovieMan-type of series. Glad you're enjoying it!!!

Really enjoying going through this show again with your reactions. I love how much you're noticing the cinematography, and can't wait for you to get to later seasons where the cinematography really gets crazy :) . I'm not someone who tends to notice that stuff on my own but even I could appreciate some of the directorial choices/etc in later seasons.

Funny little detail. Joanna; Tyrell’s wife, drinks a zip of wine when Scott is not watching although she is very pregnant and excuses herself for not doing so. She can’t hold herself from being evil

Yesss Mr. Robot! 🙌 In terms of the Wikipedia topic, I usually just go down to the sources and use them as a good jumping off point, rather than going with the Wikipedia page itself. If that makes sense A complete 180, but I find it very interesting how Tyrell is given this seducer role in his and his wife’s schemes. I feel like that it often “given” to women, so it’s fascinating to see it the other way around
