Chapter 22 Not Able to Drive
🕑 Added 2024-06-01 16:30:00 +0000 UTCNow it was time to move into the stage of devising an action plan.
Juan lived in a residential house in the old town area of Tijuana. It wasn't a huge estate or a luxurious villa, but a regular two-story house with a large yard.
Of course, "regular" was relative. In a large area of the civilian area, this 300-plus-square-meter house could also be considered a mansion.
Although the strength of the Seta Group was not as great as before, as a drug lord, Juan could not be short of money. Therefore, this large house was just one of his many residences.
According to Peter's intelligence, Juan had been living in this house for some time. Naturally, Juan's location had become the temporary headquarters of the Seta Group, always with at least a dozen bodyguards around him.
Killing Juan was not easy, but there was a chance.
After studying the intelligence provided by Peter for a long time, Frank looked at Peter and said, "In Juan's eyes, you are not qualified to be his opponent at all. So Juan doesn’t need to increase the number of bodyguards to retaliate against you, nor does he need to use his bodyguards to kill you."
After saying this, Frank spread his hands and said, "In other words, your role as bait is not that significant. If you show up, there will be a dozen bodyguards around Juan. If you don't show up, there will still be a dozen bodyguards around Juan."
Peter shook his head and said firmly, "You're right. There are always a dozen bodyguards around Juan, but there are at least fifty people in his house, waiting to execute his orders at any time. Do you think it's easier to attack a house occupied by fifty people or a house occupied by a dozen people?"
The difference between a dozen and fifty was significant. Frank nodded and said, "So how do you plan to attract Juan's attention?"
"I will find a way to call him and request a negotiation. Juan will never negotiate with me. He will only send someone to arrest me. Doesn't that create an opportunity?"
Arthur understood. After talking for so long, it all boiled down to luring the tiger away from the mountain.
Frank said seriously, "You can't just make a phone call. You have to show up. Only when Juan is sure he has found you, will he send out as many people as possible. We will have a chance then. Listen, if there are too many people around Juan, we won't be able to act. You think about the relationship between these."
Peter hesitated for a moment, then nodded, "Okay! I'll show up in person, but you guys have to be quick. If you can't kill him before Juan's men catch me, then this plan won't work. I will escape before Juan's men arrive."
Frank sighed and said, "Let's do it this way. Let's get moving."
It was not possible to make a very detailed plan, but it was not necessary either. With only five people, plus Peter, it was only six people. How could they have a foolproof plan to kill the head of the Seta Group? They could only take it step by step. If there was an opportunity, they would act; if not, they would give up.
But one thing Peter said was right. Juan would never expect that Peter was still plotting a counterattack.
Frank looked at his men, pondered for a moment, and then said to George, "You protect Peter."
Although it was said to be protection, it was surveillance. This didn't need much explanation. George nodded and said, "Okay."
Frank looked at his watch and said, "It's getting dark soon. Instead of waiting until dawn, let's do it during dinner time. Now, the four of us will approach Juan's house. You and Peter find a suitable place to wait for us to be in position. I will notify you then."
George nodded again and said, "Understood."
"If we act, no matter whether we succeed or not, you two retreat immediately. That's it."
The decision to act had been made, and the rest was simple. With a few words, they determined the specific action time. Frank stood up, lowered his voice, and said, "Let's go."
Peter sighed, reached out his hand toward Frank, and said, "Good luck."
Frank shook hands with Peter and said in a low voice, "Be careful. Our money depends on you."
Peter laughed, then got into a car with George, and the two drove away from the place.
After George took Peter away, Frank let out a long sigh, and whispered, "Let's go."
They didn't use their cars. They had rented two cars in the afternoon, so now they were going to use the rental cars for the operation. They could just abandon the cars afterward, but their equipment was still in their car.
John opened the trunk and took out a long black bag.
The equipment of the three was similar, all packed in black bags. However, looking at the bag, although it was long enough to hold a rifle, it didn't seem like it could hold a bulletproof vest.
John threw the bag into Arthur's arms. When Arthur hurriedly caught it, John casually picked up a bulletproof vest and put it on the bag, saying, "Yours."
John took out a second bag and gave it to Frank, then gave one to Rubber. Finally, he took out his bag, looked around, and said, "There's no one here, let's prepare here."
Frank said, "Weapons ready. Rubber and I will sit in the front. Don't put on the bulletproof vests yet. Bottle Cap, you and the Kung Fu Kid put on the vests."
John put on the bulletproof vest, then opened the bag and took out a tactical vest, a walkie-talkie, an earpiece, and magazines already attached to the vest.
Finally, John took out an HK416 rifle.
Arthur's bag contained the same things. He put on the bulletproof vest first, but when he tried to put the tactical vest over the bulletproof vest, he seemed... clumsy.
It was his first time seeing and touching a real tactical vest, and Arthur didn't know how to deal with the buckles, because tactical vests like this were not within his area of interest. He rarely studied them, so when it came time to use them, he was a bit at a loss.
Frank saw Arthur's movements and frowned, saying, "Hmm, almost forgot Kung Fu Kid is still a newbie. Let's switch positions, you sit in the front."
Rubber suddenly said, "I'm also ready to launch an attack at any time. Gao, you drive, I'll sit in the passenger seat."
"Huh?"
Arthur was stunned. He stopped taking off the bulletproof vest and said in astonishment, "Drive? Me drive? But I don't know how to drive!"
All three of them, who were taking equipment out of their bags, stopped and looked at Arthur together.
After a moment of astonishment, John said incredulously, "You don't know how to drive?"
Rubber exaggeratedly exclaimed, "Are you kidding? You don't know how to drive?"
Frank was incredulous, "What the heck, you can't drive?"
