Shu Yu knew that Liang Shi was just venting her frustrations, and they could still make money despite the competition. However, dividing the profits among four people naturally made them feel a bit dissatisfied, especially with the sunflower season coming to an end.
Fortunately, Li Shi wasn't present at the moment, or she might think that Liang Shi was complaining about the timing of her daughter's wedding.
Seeing their interest, Shu Yu decided to share some new information, "Recently, my workshop has produced a new snack called ham sausage, and we can fry and sell it."
Liang Shi's eyes lit up at this unexpected news. She hadn't intended to ask Shu Yu for ideas; she just wanted to complain. But now, she was eager to learn more, "How do we sell it?"
Ham sausage was something Shu Yu had planned to produce for a long time. With instant noodles being sold, how could ham sausage, its soul mate, be left out? Luckily, Wang Kangfu, who was in charge of the instant noodle workshop, enjoyed researching these snacks. Shu Yu gave him a rough idea, and he immediately delved into it.
They developed tools and improved the recipe, and a few days ago, the ham sausage was finally ready for sale.
Seeing the interest from the others, Shu Yu said to Liang's family, "Uncle Liang, Aunt Liang, after eating the noodles, I'll have Ying Xi send you back to Shishi Village. I have some business to attend to and can't leave for now."
Liang's family declined, "Miss Lu, you don't need to bother. We can walk back, and if we encounter a cart on the way, we'll hitch a ride."
They had already received the twenty taels of silver as compensation from Master Qian. To be honest, they weren't well-off, and their sunflower fields didn't yield as much as others'. They didn't even have twenty taels altogether, so having this much money in hand still made their hearts race.
They owed it all to Shu Yu. Without her, they wouldn't have received such a significant compensation.
Still, Shu Yu was worried about their safety on the long journey back to Shishi Village, so she insisted that Ying Xi accompany them. They didn't refuse any further and soon left on the carriage.
After they left, the stall became less busy, so Shu Yu took Liang Shi and Cuihua to the workshop.
The workshop was equipped with everything they needed, and Shu Yu had prepared a hot iron plate for frying the ham sausages.
Shu Yu threaded the sausages on skewers and made a few cuts on them. Once the iron plate was heated, she poured some oil on it, placed the sausages, and the sizzling sound immediately spread a delightful aroma.
"What is this, ham sausage? How is it made?" asked Liang Shi curiously.
Shu Yu replied casually, "It has some meat inside." She didn't reveal the specific recipe; after all, it was a trade secret.
Liang Shi's eyes lit up even more at the mention of meat. With meat inside, they could raise the price.
The ham sausages were quickly fried and seasoned. Shu Yu handed one to each of them, saying, "Try it."
Liang Shi couldn't wait and took a bite. Her eyes widened instantly, "It's delicious, crispy and fragrant. The taste is amazing."
Cuihua nodded in agreement, "Ah Yu, these ham sausages will definitely sell well."
