Shu Yu turned her head and waved at them, "You've arrived?"
" Sister Lu Xiangjun." The group of children ran to a spot three steps away from Shu Yu and came to a stop, somewhat shyly greeting her.
They were the ones who helped Shu Yu with the promotion yesterday, vigorously attracting customers in the streets and alleys.
Shu Yu counted them, "Is everyone here? Follow me inside."
The group of children pushed and shoved their way into the shop, but once inside, they didn't dare look around. Especially since there were many customers inside, they received surprised looks from them, making the children even more nervous. They quickly followed Shu Yu into the backyard.
The backyard was empty, and they finally breathed a sigh of relief and dared to look around.
The courtyard was spacious, not just designed for practicality, but also beautifully landscaped with a small artificial mountain and flowing water, creating a picturesque scene.
The sound of flowing water was soothing and calming.
Shu Yu said to them, "Have a seat here for a while, and I'll be back in a moment."
"Okay, Sister Lu Xiangjun."
After Shu Yu left, the children curiously looked at the artificial mountain and water. One of them spotted some fish and whispered, "Look, there are fish inside."
"Living here must be very comfortable. The yard is so big, and there are so many rooms."
"Of course, this is Sister Lu Xiangjun's store. Do you know how formidable she is? She's someone who has seen the emperor."
Just as Shu Yu walked out of the room, she heard them and thought, "No, I haven't seen the emperor. Please don't exaggerate on my behalf."
She shook her head with a smile and took a few steps forward.
The children who were talking instantly fell silent and looked obediently at her, saying, "Sister Lu Xiangjun."
Shu Yu sat down on a stone stool, holding a purse in her hand, much larger than the one she gave to Meng Yunzheng yesterday.
The purse was now placed on the stone table, making a clinking sound, and the group of children widened their eyes.
Shu Yu said, "As we agreed before, you all worked diligently yesterday, and your wages won't be short. Now, line up one by one."
The children became instantly excited.
In fact, Shu Yu had promised them that they would get paid on the same day.
However, they stopped working yesterday before it got too late. After all, they were children, and Shu Yu couldn't let them shout all day long; she didn't want to exploit them. So she let them take a break, making sure not to overwork them.
Later, when the children stopped working in the evening, the one leading them saw the store bustling with people, with even the store owner, Village Lord, personally attending to the customers. At that moment, he thought it might not be the best time to ask for their wages as it might bother her while she's working.
So when he saw Shu Yu and she called them in, he took the initiative to say, "Sister Lu Xiangjun, you are busy, we will come back tomorrow."
After saying that, the group of children ran away, and Shu Yu didn't have time to stop them.
However, she had already prepared their rewards, thinking she had overslept and might have missed them. Unexpectedly, they showed up just in time.
Inside the purse were strings of copper coins. After seeing the children lining up properly, Shu Yu began to hand them out one by one.
