The carriage wasn't moving fast as it carried Grandma Lu who had recently recovered from an illness. Shu Yu instructed the driver to take it slow.
The weather wasn't too hot these days, so Shu Yu opened the curtains to let Grandma Lu enjoy the scenery outside.
"When we find your grand aunt, I'll bring her here to see how much this place has changed in the past thirty or forty years." Perhaps due to her anticipation, Grandma Lu didn't hesitate to mention grand aunt Fang.
Shu Yu smiled and replied, "Of course, once we find grand aunt, you can go around everywhere with her. With the carriage at home, you can visit the places you've been to before, the ones you haven't been to, and the ones you wish to go to. Life will be enjoyable and fulfilling."
Although they didn't know if they would find grand aunt Fang, Grandma Lu held hope, which was better than having no expectations at all.
Her eyes sparkled as she heard Shu Yu's description. "That sounds wonderful."
As the grandmother and granddaughter talked, the carriage arrived at the estate.
The sunflowers had just grown to half a person's height, looking lush green. Although they hadn't blossomed into golden flowers yet, they still looked beautiful.
Grandma Lu felt delighted. In the past, they only had a few mu of land, and they had to sell some to raise money after Lu Erbai injured his leg. Now, in just a short time, this whole piece of land belonged to them, and it looked so auspicious.
The carriage stopped outside the estate, and Grandma Lu couldn't take her eyes off the flower field, not wanting to look away.
But suddenly, Zhou Qiao's surprised voice came from inside the estate, "Grandma? Why are you here?"
Grandma Lu turned around, and the first thing she saw was the child in her arms.
She stepped forward and took the child from Zhou Qiao's arms, saying, "Oh, little Zao Zao, let Grandma hold you."
Xiao Zao Zao opened her eyes wide and drooled as soon as her mouth opened.
She found it amusing and giggled.
Xiao Zao Zao jostled her a little and said, "This little girl is really... sturdy."
Xiao Zao Zao was almost six months old now, and she was not only heavy to hold but also had sturdy limbs.
Grandma Lu had taken care of many children, but none of them had limbs as robust as this little girl.
In the past, when the family was poor, there wasn't much breast milk, and the children were thin. But Xiao Zao Zao was different. Zhou Qiao had a good postpartum recovery, ate well, and had sufficient breast milk. Moreover, with Da Niu finding a nurse early on, the little girl had become chubby.
Xiao Zao Zao was easy to handle at this age. She was curious about everything, and as long as she could see the outside world, it didn't matter who held her.
After playing with her for a while, Shu Yu was chased away by Xiao. "Alright, Ah Yu, don't you have work at the workshop? Go and busy yourself. I'll stay here and chat with your sister-in-law and look after little Zao Zao."
"Alright then." Shu Yu let go of Xiao Zao Zao's hand. Seeing Grandma Lu carrying the child to the side to look at the doorway, she went to Zhou Qiao and said in a low voice, "Grandma fell ill yesterday. Since she's better today, I brought her out to relax. Please take care of her and remind her to rest later."
Zhou Qiao didn't know Grandma Lu had been sick, but upon hearing this, she nodded quickly. "Don't worry, I'm here."
There were servants in the estate, and there was also Hua Xian. There was no need to worry.
Shu Yu simply reminded Zhou Qiao and quickly bid farewell.
As the carriage left, the commotion attracted Xiao Zao Zao's attention. She reached out her hands and tried to pounce forward, and Grandma Lu almost couldn't hold her. Zhou Qiao took the opportunity to take the child back, coaxing her to look at the flower field.
