Master Miao suddenly looked up upon hearing that she was a disciple of Dongqing Temple master. The reaction was even more significant than when he heard that she was Lu Xiangjun or when Meng Yunzheng was the adopted son of Minister Gongqiu.
He stared at Shu Yu in astonishment for a while before squinting his eyes, "Dongqing Temple master has a disciple?"
"If Master Miao doesn't believe it, you can go to Dongqing Temple and inquire. I have no reason to spread such a blatant lie, right?" Shu Yu replied.
Master Miao fell silent. If she were just an unknown young girl, he might not have paid much attention. However, she was Lu Xiangjun, a girl who had gained recognition from the prominent young lord in the capital. So her words carried some weight.
He was somewhat surprised that Dongqing Temple master had taken her as a disciple.
However, he realized that she was not an ordinary person, and it wasn't impossible for her to be acknowledged by Dongqing Temple master.
"Perfect. I was planning to visit Dong Qing Guan today. Would you two like to come along? We can travel together," Master Miao said.
While he had thought about it, Master Miao was a cautious person, and he wouldn't easily believe everything others said.
Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng exchanged glances, "Sure, let's go now?"
As it wasn't early anymore, Master Miao wanted to figure out their purpose as soon as possible. He instructed his attendants to prepare a carriage immediately for their departure.
Meng Yunzheng thought about the Black Market members waiting at the restaurant opposite the Miao Mansion. He stood up and said, "Master Miao, let's wait for you at the back door of the mansion."
Master Miao looked meaningfully at both of them and nodded in agreement, allowing his attendants to bring the carriage to the back door.
Not only that, but the attendants also entered the mansion through the back door to avoid being followed by the Black Market.
Once the carriage was ready, they headed directly to Dongqing Temple outside the city.
When they arrived at Dongqing Temple, it was almost noon, but the place was still bustling with people coming and going.
Naturally, Master Miao went to pay his respects to the long bright lamp of his sister first. Afterward, he inquired about Qiu Dao Gu's current location.
The guide nun at the temple glanced at Shu Yu and smiled, "When I saw a few donors coming, Sister Qiu went to prepare vegetarian meals for you. She's in the dining hall. Please follow me."
Master Miao was somewhat surprised that Qiu Dao Gu had gone to prepare meals in advance when she saw them coming.
He had been at Dongqing Temple for many years and was familiar with Qiu Dao Gu. She was always reserved and would never act this way, even with someone she knew well.
Master Miao couldn't help but look at Shu Yu again, and then he followed her up.
There were many people in the dining hall, but Qiu Dao Gu had clearly reserved a separate room for them to dine.
"Senior Sister Qiu," Shu Yu stood beside Qiu Dao Gu with a smile, "What delicious food have you prepared? Anything special?"
With outsiders present, Qiu Dao Gu was less talkative, and her expression was more serious. However, her voice remained gentle, "It's just the usual meals in the temple, nothing special. Please have a seat, donors."
Master Miao noticed the familiarity between the two and was now convinced of Shu Yu's identity.
Once they all sat down, they quietly began to eat. In such a place, no one would waste food or make loud noise.
Even though Master Miao was anxious, he still ate politely and courteously.
After finishing the meal, Master Miao smiled at Qiu Dao Gu, "Sister Qiu, I heard that Dongqing Temple master has taken on a new disciple. Is this true?"
