Ying Xi nodded, "During those two days, Young Master Meng took my brother out early in the morning, but they didn't tell me the specifics of what they were planning. It wasn't until the morning we set off that my brother suddenly said we were going to watch some excitement and then leave."
They went to a restaurant in the city, and Yao An was there.
The restaurant didn't belong to the Yao family; it was said that Yao An had been drinking there the night before, got drunk, and didn't want to go home. The shopkeeper knew his identity and gave him a room on the second floor.
Ying Xi didn't understand what kind of excitement they were looking for there, but Yao An jumped from the second floor of the restaurant.
Given that he hadn't fully recovered from his injuries, he fainted immediately after the jump.
Coincidentally, the city's constables were patrolling nearby, and when they saw the situation, they thought it was a murder and suspected that someone had pushed Yao An down from the second floor. They immediately called for help and blocked everyone inside the restaurant, not allowing anyone to leave.
Several constables went upstairs and searched the room.
To everyone's surprise, they found Wang Jiayi lying unconscious on the bed.
Though the Wang family wasn't a wealthy household, Wang Jiayi was a decent young woman.
Moreover, she was Yao An's cousin. Her mother was Yao An's aunt, and she had a very fierce and difficult temperament.
It was said that it was because Wang Jiayi's mother wanted to form a relationship with the Yao family that she allowed her daughter to live there as a cousin.
Now that this kind of thing had happened, the Wang family wouldn't just let it go.
Ying Xi continued, "Although we left after watching the excitement, my brother told me that Yao An didn't do well in the capital. Not only did he fail to obtain any official position, but he also brought trouble to the family. Old Master Yao was quite unhappy with this matter and started to consider nurturing other sons. Yao An is like a discarded child now, and it doesn't matter who he marries."
Although they had already left Huajiang Prefecture, it was likely that Yao An would end up marrying Wang Jiayi.
"They deserve it. One wanted to harm Miss, and the other wanted to harm Young Master Yao Bo's future wife. They perfectly match each other in causing harm."
Shu Yu raised an eyebrow, "Indeed, they harm each other. Yao An knows about Wang Jiayi's feelings for someone else, so he probably will feel disgusted marrying her."
They should both be locked together to prevent them from harming others.
Ying Xi nodded, "My brother said that the reason Yao An jumped from the window was that the front door was locked. Wang Jiayi was still unconscious, and he had to escape before she woke up. He could only go out through the window. There was a small alley below the window that was usually deserted. He thought he could quietly climb down from there without being noticed."
"But what he didn't know was that there was a vendor selling things around the corner where he couldn't see. Many people were gathered around the stall, picking things. When Yao An covered half of his face and was holding the bedsheet, trying to climb down bit by bit from the second floor, the vendor was surprised and pointed at him. As everyone looked up at the second floor, Young Master Meng threw a pebble at the Ya An's hand, making him fall directly."
"After that, Yao An's true identity was exposed."
Shu Yu's lips twitched, "He's really... unscrupulous. I'm afraid Yao An will think that Wang Jiayi set him up in the end."
While they were talking, Hua Xian knocked on the door from outside, "Second Miss, Madam Xiang is here."
