Shu Yu followed Xiao Songle's gaze and saw Quan Quan playing joyfully with the cat named "Zhao Cai."
Zhao Cai was the stray cat that Shu Yu had adopted. Initially, it lived with the Lu family and had a great relationship with the twins.
When Shu Yu was exiled and the Lu family's second branch followed her to the southwest, it was inconvenient to bring the cat along during the journey. So, Shu Yu entrusted Zhao Cai to Lu SiXing to take care of.
During the eight or nine months that the second branch was away, Zhao Cai stayed with the Yuan family. It formed a deep bond with the Yuan family, especially with the young toddler, Quan Quan.
When the second branch returned from the southwest, they considered bringing Zhao Cai back to the Lu family. However, when Quan Quan found out, he cried so loudly that it almost scared everyone off. Zhao Cai was reluctant to leave, and thus, Lu Sixing qnd the family decided to let the cat stay with the Yuan family.
However, whenever Lu Sixing, visited with her two children, Zhao Cai would come along and become familiar with this side of the family as well.
At this moment, Zhao Cai was in the midst of several children, meowing excitedly.
Quan Quan was holding a dog's tail grass and playing with Zhao Cai, laughing happily.
After playing for a while, Quan Quan's elder sister, Xiao Zhen, would feed him water, and his cousin, Ah Ning, would give him something to eat. Recently, he was fascinated with playing house, and his cousin, Bao Ya, would pretend to wipe his sweat with a handkerchief, even though it got dirtier and dirtier. At this time, Quan Quan's young cousin, Lai Yuan, the little gentleman, would rewipe it for him.
Quan Quan was like the center of attention, surrounded by loving family members.
Upon observing the scene, Xiao Songle, who was quietly hiding alone behind the wall, appeared even more lonely and forlorn.
Shu Yu pursed her lips, lost in thought.
She approached him slowly, and the child seemed to have heard her footsteps as he turned his head to look.
Seeing that it was her, he appeared somewhat embarrassed and took a small step back, avoiding eye contact.
Shu Yu gently crouched down behind him and held his little hand, saying, "That's your little brother."
Xiao Songle looked puzzled.
Shu Yu pointed to Quan Quan and said, "The one playing with the little cat over there is your younger brother. He's younger than you."
Shu Yu thought that Xiao Songle might be afraid of children older than him because they might have bullied him. But what about children younger than him?
As she expected, as soon as she finished speaking, a faint surprise flashed across Xiao Songle's expression.
Shu Yu smiled and continued, "His name is Quan Quan, and he's five months younger than you."
Quan Quan is just two years old now. The little guy appears small and short, but he's full of smiles. Whenever he laughs, it's infectious, making everyone around him laugh along.
Xiao Song Le blinked and kept staring at Quan Quan. His little head tilted slightly, showing even more curiosity about this younger brother who is several months younger than him.
Shu Yu asked him, "Do you want to be friends with him?"
The idea of having a friend intrigued Xiao Songle because he didn't have any friends at the moment. And since Quan Quan is younger than him, maybe it would be okay?
He looked up and met Shu Yu's encouraging gaze, finally nodding hesitantly.
Shu Yu patted his head and said, "Alright, wait here."
She got up and walked towards the other children who were playing. An Ning was the first to notice her and hurriedly ran over, whispering, "Second sister, I wanted to call Xiao Lele to join us, but it seems like he's still scared and hiding. So, I didn't call him. But I intentionally played with Xiao Zhen and the others here. If he likes it, he can join us quietly without leaving any traces."
