Xiang Weinan picked up the iron token and looked at Shu Yu with a smile, "So, in the end, you didn't use it?"
"Well, I did accept your kind gesture," Shu Yu replied.
Yeah, you accepted it, and then you gave me gifts from the capital? Xiang Weinan snorted, feeling that this brat Yunzheng was being unreasonable. He was a local of the capital, who would fall for such trickery intended for outsiders? How could he be so shameless!
Setting that aside, Xiang Weinan poured her a cup of tea and asked her about the situation in the capital.
Actually, Xiang Weinan was aware of the events in the capital, but he still had some questions about certain details.
Unfortunately, he didn't have a chance to participate in such major events in the capital.
Shu Yu briefly told him what happened, then asked about the situation with the Black Market, "I heard from Big brother that the Black Market seems to be relocating?"
Xiang Weinan leaned against the back of his chair, "I knew it. You just came back to Jiangyuan County and didn't even catch your breath before coming to me. So it turns out you came for this."
Shu Yu found his response quite unreasonable. After all, she brought him a gift, and she also clarified his doubts. Why did it seem like she always had ulterior motives every time she visited him? Couldn't they just be friends catching up?
Of course, her main purpose was indeed about the Black Market's relocation.
After all, her estate was so close to the Black Market. If something happened there, it might affect her hundreds mu of newly planted sunflowers. She had just started to expand her business and earn money. She didn't want any unexpected mishaps.
Xiang Weinan didn't beat around the bush and directly said, "Yes, the Black Market is indeed planning to relocate."
"Really? Why?"
"I'm not sure yet, but they are secretly looking for someone to buy that hill and the mansion on top of it." Xiang Weinan lightly tapped the table with his fingers. "It seems to be related to that mirror. Ever since the mirror was bought by the Third Prince's consort, a lot of people started coming to the Black Market in Jiangyuan County. At that time, the market's opening hours were no longer stable."
Shu Yu coughed softly, "..." Why bring up the mirror again? She had to be extra cautious and keep her little secret tightly sealed.
Xiang Weinan glanced at her, feeling that her expression was a bit strange, but he didn't ask further and continued, "Last time when the Cui family had a murder case, Hu Li used the excuse of investigating to visit that area. He did find some clues."
Shu Yu knew about this. If it wasn't for Xiao Ya'er accidentally going to that hill, Hu Li wouldn't have found an excuse to get so close to the target.
But after Hu Li came back, Shu Yu didn't ask much.
"What clues did he find?"
"The Black Market occasionally seeks rare items outside and transports them back to trade and auction during market openings. But after that incident, Hu Li noticed that they no longer transported things inside, only outside. And when the Black Market reopened, the goods inside were scarce, and even the auction items were fewer than before."
It felt like they were clearing out their inventory.
"So, since then, the Black Market has been preparing to leave Jiangyuan County?"
"Yes, it seems so."
Sighing, Shu Yu asked, "So who will take over the Black Market and the hill? Who has been in contact with them?"
This was what Shu Yu was most concerned about. Neighbors were still important.
On this point, Xiang Weinan was quite informed. He knew who had been in contact with the Black Market.
He gave her some good news, "No one is buying it for now."
"No one? But it's a hill. You've been to the mansion on top, it's not extravagantly decorated, but it's much better than an ordinary courtyard, right?"
