Shu Yu and Meng Yun Zhe quickly found another restaurant and reserved a quiet private room. They ordered a few dishes and asked the waiter for writing materials.
Before the food arrived, Shu Yu started writing a letter. She wanted to remind the Yao family before any trouble arose. However, she would leave the decision on how to handle the matter to the Yao family themselves.
Once she finished writing, she sealed the letter and sent it to the capital through the postal service, to be delivered to Yao Tianqin or Yao Bo.
After completing this task, just as they were done, Ying Xi returned.
She looked a bit exhausted, but there was also a sense of relief on her face, and she had a smile.
When she approached Shu Yu, she spoke with a bit of embarrassment, "Miss, can I borrow ten taels of silver from you? Brother Tan and Uncle Li helped me a lot, and I want to buy something as a token of appreciation. Especially for Uncle Li, he spent money to arrange the burial of my parents when they passed away, and I want to repay him."
Ying Xi used to be quite well-off since Shu Yu was generous and rewarded her for doing a good job. She could say that her days were quite comfortable now.
However, this rare trip, especially after going to the capital, she also bought many things and brought practical items for her elder brother. As a result, her pocket was now quite empty.
Without hesitation, Shu Yu gave her a silver ticket, "If it's not enough, just ask me."
"Thank you, Miss."
Ying Xi happily went to buy the gifts for Tan Ping and Uncle Li. Tan Ping accepted them and left, only asking her to take care of herself and pass on his regards to Ying Dong.
Then, Ying Xi took the gifts and went to Uncle Li. As he looked at the pork, cloth, pastries, and silver in his hand, a complex expression crossed his face, and he fell silent for a moment.
Without refusing, he accepted the gifts and sighed, "Both of you have followed a good master." Generous and kind, treating servants like family, a master like that would surely make life comfortable.
He wondered how his nephews and nieces were doing after being sold somewhere. They must be leading a tough life.
With that thought, Uncle Li shook his head, carried the gifts, and went back home.
Ying Xi pursed her lips and returned to Shu Yu's side.
Shu Yu then asked about the situation at Dongshantou. Ying Xi said, "There are many wild graves at Dongshantou, and few people go there. It's desolate. I haven't been around, and my mother's grave hasn't been tended to, so it's now overgrown with grass."
She originally wanted to clear the grass around the grave, but time didn't permit it. Miss was waiting for her in the city, and she couldn't make Tan Ping and Uncle Li wait too.
So, she came back first, "Miss, I want to relocate my mother's grave and move her next to my father's grave. Is that okay?"
"Of course."
However, relocating a grave required selecting an auspicious time. If the timing was wrong, many believed the deceased would not rest in peace.
Ying Xi sought the advice of a fortune-teller and found that the most suitable time was in half a month, but any sooner was not auspicious. Later than that, there were twenty days or a month later.
In short, there was no good day within the next half month.
Half a month? Shu Yu definitely couldn't wait that long in this place.
Ying Xi couldn't stay alone here either. She was now Miss's maidservant and bodyguard. It was her responsibility to protect Miss on the way home.
Miss had been generous enough to her, and she couldn't be greedy.
