Meng Yunzheng followed her gaze and raised an eyebrow, "This is... a high-speed spinning wheel?"
Shu Yu nodded. The shopkeeper noticed them and immediately said, "You two also recognize this item? Let me tell you, this high-speed spinning wheel is a new invention that benefits the common people. It's been extremely popular this year, and almost everyone outside knows about it."
Shu Yu was familiar with this tool. She had seen it when it was just invented.
She found it strange and asked, "Since it's a farming tool, it should have little to do with your restaurant, right? Why don't you have a God of Wealth statue? Instead, you have such an item?"
The shopkeeper burst into laughter and said with some pride, "Miss, you don't know. This high-speed spinning wheel was created by the current Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Works, Lord Yao, and presented to the court. Lord Yao's family is right here in Huajiang Prefecture. The owner of this restaurant is Lord Yao's elder brother."
So, placing the high-speed spinning wheel on the counter was no different from having a God of Wealth statue.
Shu Yu was stunned and exchanged a glance with Meng Yunzheng.
That's right, she had almost forgotten that Yao An's family was in Huajiang Prefecture. In that case, this restaurant was opened by Yao An's family?
Shu Yu looked at the menu hanging behind the counter, which still displayed prices. Compared to what they had seen at Yuelai Inn earlier, the prices here were considerably higher, but the layout and appearance of the restaurant were similar to Yuelai Inn.
Looking at the menu, the wooden sign seemed quite new, probably replaced within the past six months.
Unbelievable, Yao Family not only sent Yao An to the capital to find him a small official position, but also took advantage of Yao Tianqin's identity as Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Works to profit arrogantly.
"Sir, young lady, care to come in?" The shopkeeper smiled and invited them inside after telling them about the background of the restaurant.
However, Shu Yu didn't want to enter. She wasn't a fool, and she didn't want to give money to the Yao family.
So she smiled and asked, "Do you use sunflower oil for cooking here?"
The shopkeeper was taken aback. Sunflower oil? What was that?
He shook his head, "We use premium lard and rapeseed oil."
Shu Yu sighed, "Then it won't work. I can only eat dishes cooked with sunflower oil."
Meng Yunzheng comforted her, "If they don't have it here, we can look for another restaurant. Huajiang Prefecture is so big, we'll find one eventually."
"You're right." Shu Yu nodded, "Let's go, let's find another place."
After saying that, without waiting for the shopkeeper to stop them, they left the restaurant.
The shopkeeper furrowed his brow, muttering softly, "What is sunflower oil? I've never heard of it."
He called over a server and asked him to inquire about where to buy sunflower oil in Huajiang Prefecture.
As Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng turned the corner, Shu Yu was overjoyed, "Once my sunflower oil hits the market, I'll use this method to promote it in restaurants. What do you think?"
"It's a good idea."
"But the Yao family is really shameless, doing business in the name of Uncle Yao, without any integrity. I just took a look, and though it's not mealtime yet, the restaurant is already full of customers."
Shu Yu felt that a large portion of the customers were attracted by Yao Tianqin's identity as Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Works.
Meng Yunzheng said, "If things continue like this, trouble is inevitable."
The Yao family had treated Shu Yu well, so they wouldn't turn a blind eye to such matters.
