Upon hearing Shu Yu, Ying Xi quickly made her way back from the other side where Wang Jiayi was. She crouched beside Shu Yu and reported in a low voice, "Miss, it's done."
Shu Yu nodded and took a few steps back with Ying Xi.
She then gave Ying Xi a signal, and Yingsi immediately shouted loudly, "Is anyone there? My lady is in trouble! Help!"
Ying Xi's voice was loud, and soon, people from nearby courtyards started to respond.
Quickly, some servants rushed over, and the first to arrive was unexpectedly Yao Hong.
That was reasonable; she had been awake all night, keeping an eye on the situation outside. Upon hearing the shout, she immediately ran out without even changing her clothes.
Originally, Yao Hong thought they had caught Shu Yu and Yao An in bed together, but as she ran a little further, she saw Shu Yu leaning against Ying Xi with a distressed expression, sitting on a stone bench.
Yao Hong was stunned. How did they end up here? Where was her brother?
Yao An was currently looking for someone and also rushed over after hearing the commotion.
By the time he arrived, a servant girl on night duty had already reached Shu Yu's side, supporting her and asking in a low voice.
Following closely, Yao Bo and Kang Shi also arrived.
Yao Tianqin and Madam Yao were heavy sleepers and woke up last.
By the time they arrived, many people had already gathered around Shu Yu.
They helped her back to her courtyard for rest.
Madam Yao was extremely anxious, "A Yu, what's wrong? Where do you feel uncomfortable?"
Shu Yu shook her head, her voice sounding weak, "I don't know. I just felt thirsty when I woke up in the night, so I drank some water. After that, I started feeling unwell, my stomach felt uncomfortable, and I kept sweating."
"Water?" Madam Yao was astonished, "Could there be something wrong with the water?"
"I don't know," Shu Yu shook her head, "Just to be safe, I took the antidote prepared by Doctor Zhao. I don't know if it worked, but the pain has eased now, and I should be fine."
"What do you mean, 'should be fine'? We should find a doctor to come and check on you," Lady Yao said anxiously.
Shu Yu sighed, "Aunt, I took the antidote that Doctor Zhao made. I don't know if other doctors can identify the problem. Besides, it's almost dawn now. Let Ying Xi go directly to find Doctor Zhao."
It was now early morning, and if the emperor could still hold the morning court normally, many officials would have already gone to the palace for court sessions.
Hence, there should be people on the streets already.
Hearing this, Madam Yao hurriedly nodded and asked Ying Xi to go.
Once Ying Xi left, Madam Yao continued to express her concern for Shu Yu. After confirming that she was indeed feeling better, Madam Yao finally felt relieved.
Then, she turned to Fung Mama, "You arranged for someone to tidy up Ah Yu's room, and the tea and snacks inside were prepared by whom?"
Fung Mama hurriedly called the servant who had prepared the tea and snacks.
As soon as the servant arrived, Shu Yu shook her head with a frown, "It wasn't her."
Madam Yao was puzzled, and Fung Mama looked bewildered as well, "The tea and snacks in the room were indeed prepared by Zhang Mama."
Zhang Mama, upon hearing that the tea she had prepared caused problems and affected an important guest, was in a panic and quickly knelt down, saying, "Master, Madam, I did prepare the tea and snacks, but I didn't do anything to them. The tea and snacks were taken from the kitchen. I...
