Kang Shi nodded repeatedly upon hearing Shu Yu's suggestion, "You're right. Yao Bo will have a rest day tomorrow, and he'll come back home tonight. I'll discuss this with him then."
Shu Yu nodded, then turned her head to see Kang Shi still holding her belly.
Earlier, Kang Shi had been so startled that Shu Yu was genuinely worried. She said, "Sister-in-law, Doctor Zhao happens to be in the capital. How about... I invite him to come and check on you?"
Kang Shi's eyes brightened, "Really? Doctor Zhao is in the capital? Alright, help me invite him over."
Shu Yu turned her head and asked Ying Xi to find Doctor Zhao.
Today, Zhao Xi should still be preparing his medicines in the courtyard. As for Meng Yunzheng, he had left early in the morning.
After Meng Pei came to the capital, he was about to leave, and they didn't know when he would be back.
Meng Yunzheng had already settled his cooperation with the Fifth Prince, so he had other matters to attend to.
Ying Xi quickly left the Yao family, and Shu Yu stayed with Kang Shi to chat for a while.
After a while, Madam Yao came to inform them that it was time for lunch.
When they arrived at the dining table, Yao An and the other two were already waiting there.
Originally, Madam Yao wanted to have someone deliver the food to Yao An separately. After all, it was awkward for him to be the only man among a table full of women.
However, when she brought Kang Shi and Shu Yu over, Yao An had already come and poured himself a glass of wine, acting completely at ease.
Madam Yao didn't say anything but was dissatisfied in her heart. He really didn't understand any rules. With guests in the house, he should have waited for them before sitting at the table. No wonder both siblings were so unlikeable.
Madam Yao didn't pay them much attention and turned to serve Shu Yu.
With an outsider present, she didn't want to discuss private matters and instead started chatting about the scenery in the capital.
As they chatted, Yao An interrupted from time to time, even pretending to be knowledgeable about the city, despite not being a native.
Seeing his overly attentive behavior, Madam Yao furrowed her brows. Yao An's actions were overly considerate.
Yao An was oblivious and even attempted to serve Shu Yu food.
Shu Yu was annoyed, and the whole meal was eaten in a very unpleasant mood.
Unfortunately, Yao An seemed not to notice at all and continued speaking, "Actually, the scenery in Huajiang Prefecture is not bad either, and it's quite bustling. Our Yao family is also one of the richest households in Huajiang Prefecture. My father is the head of the family. Just look at..."
Shu Yu secretly took a deep breath. She had been ignoring him, but now she was curious and turned to look at him, "So impressive?"
Yao Hong slightly raised her chin, looking somewhat proud.
Wang Jiayi still kept her head down, but her grip on the chopsticks tightened slightly. From time to time, she glanced at Kang Shi. Neither of them paid much attention to the conversation at the table.
Yao An heard Shu Yu's question and smiled happily, "Yes, if Miss Lu Xiangjun is interested, I can introduce you."
Shu Yu replied, "I'm interested in one thing, actually."
"What?" Yao An eagerly asked.
Shu Yu smiled, "Since your Yao family is one of the richest households in Huajiang Prefecture, why didn't your father, as the head of the family, lend a hand when Uncle Yao was struggling in the southwest in the past? It's a pity that your family didn't offer any help back then, and now that Uncle Yao has turned things around, you can't really share the glory. What a shame. After all, courtesy demands reciprocity, right?"
