However, Kang Shi was different. After becoming pregnant, Madam Yao didn't let her worry about other things and had more free time to think.
Moreover, Yao Bo and Wang Jiayi didn't have many chances to meet, so they didn't know each other well. But Kang Shi had more opportunities to see Wang Jiayi.
Kang Shi couldn't stand it. "Whether it's Yao's siblings or Wang Jiayi, if they come to our house, it will become chaotic, causing all sorts of trouble. I really want to send them back to Huajiang Prefecture immediately."
Shu Yu found it strange, "They've been here for over a month. Why haven't you found a chance to send them back?"
Kang Shi sighed, "There were opportunities before, but in the past month, there have been many incidents in the capital. It's chaotic outside, and we can't let anyone leave during this sensitive period. Especially since Yao Bo's father is still working in the Ministry of Works, and the Ministry of Works has been severely affected due to the trouble with the Assistant Minister. If we suddenly send people away from our home at this time, it will inevitably draw attention and create more trouble."
Shu Yu understood. During that period, the entire capital was on high alert, and there were occasional reports of officials' family members being harmed. The Ministry of Works was particularly affected.
But Yao Tianqin had just returned from the southwest, and he had no connections with the officials at the time. Moreover, everyone knew his character well.
Therefore, he was the person in the Ministry of Works who was least involved.
"Oh no?" Kang Shi suddenly exclaimed, startling Shu Yu. "What's wrong? What's wrong?" Shu Yu asked anxiously.
Kang Shi turned her head, "Originally, Wang Jiayi thought I couldn't conceive, so she was jumping around trying to become Yao Bo's legitimate wife. But now that she knows I'm pregnant, what if she..."
Shu Yu frowned. Wang Jiayi didn't seem like the type to back down easily. She might very well try to harm the child in Kang Shi's belly.
Kang Shi immediately became nervous, "I can't allow this. I have to send them away immediately. I'll be on edge as long as they stay in the Yao family."
Not only in the Yao family but even if they stayed in the capital, she wouldn't feel at ease.
Kang Shi stood up to take action, but then she hesitated and returned to Shu Yu. Worried, she asked, "Ah Yu, what excuse should I use to make them leave?"
Shu Yu, "..."
In this regard, the wealthy families were not as straightforward as rural households. If she had her own way, she could decide who could or couldn't stay in her house. If she disliked someone, she could just sweep them out.
But wealthy families had to consider their reputation and avoid gossip. Even if they despised someone, they had to greet them with a smiling face.
"Ah Yu, you're smart. Tell me what to do," Kang Shi pleaded, holding Shu Yu's hand with a hopeful expression.
This question was difficult for her.
"Ah Yu..." Kang Shi looked pitiful.
Shu Yu thought for a moment and said, "I think you should talk to Yao Bo. Ask him what to do. I believe he cares about the child just as much as you, and so do Uncle Yao and Aunt Yao. When it comes to the child, nobody would take any risks."
Madam Yao had a better understanding of the inner struggles of the inner courtyard. She might consider things more seriously than Kang Shi did.
