Shu Yu thought about it and decided to find Zhao Xi another day to have him examine Kang Shi again. Kang Shi had developed a great deal of trust in him since taking his prescribed medicine.
However, just as she was about to speak, she noticed one of the maidservants looking hesitant to say something.
Curious, Shu Yu glanced at the maid, and Kang Shi followed her gaze. "Cai'er, what's the matter? Why are you hesitating?"
Cai'er glanced at Shu Yu and then replied, "Madam, I'm afraid that Wang Jiayi might have found out about your pregnancy."
Wang Jiayi?
Shu Yu turned her head to look at Kang Shi, who suddenly had a change in expression. She slammed the table angrily and said, "How could she know?"
Cai'er explained, "This morning, when the doctor came for your follow-up, he ran into Wang Jiayi on his way out. Wang Jiayi asked who was unwell, and I escorted the doctor out, telling her that you were feeling a bit unwell. I didn't say much to her. Later, after I came back from seeing the doctor off, I saw one of Wang Jiayi's maidservants coming out of the kitchen. I asked her, and that's when I found out that she had gone to inquire about the medicine you were taking."
With only a few servants in the Yao residence, and considering they had recently moved there, it was easy for the maidservants to find out about things happening in the house. Wang Jiayi's maidservant had used her wit and managed to find out about Kang Shi's situation.
Cai'er had wanted to report this to Kang Shi earlier, but she received a message from the gatekeeper that Wang Jiayi had come over.
Yao Bo and Yao Tianqin rushed to the main hall without paying much attention to her words.
It was only now that Cai'er found an opportunity to speak up.
Hearing this, Kang Shi's chest felt suffocated, and she let out a few groans.
Shu Yu was alarmed and quickly asked, "How are you feeling?" She turned and called Ying Xi, "Go find the doctor quickly."
Kang Shi raised her hand and waved it, "I'm fine, just feeling emotionally choked up. My body is fine."
Shu Yu poured her a cup of water. "Are you really okay?"
Kang Shi let out a breath and, as if finally finding a vent for her emotions, frowned and said, "Ah Yu, you don't know. That Wang Jiayi is not a good person."
When speaking of this person, Kang Shi couldn't swallow this anger.
"That girl is the daughter of Yao An's maternal aunt's family. Originally, she had nothing to do with our Yao family. But when Yao An and his siblings were coming to the capital, she threatened to come to the capital to experience it and insisted on staying in our house. She didn't even think it was inappropriate."
"At first, I thought she was worried about Yao An, afraid that he might have a fling when he came to the capital. From what I heard from Yao Hong's words, it seemed like they were a couple. But when I saw Yao An, he didn't seem that interested in her, so she just hovered around him. At that time, I felt sorry for her, thinking she had fallen for him."
"Who knew that she didn't need my pity at all? As soon as she came to our house, she was initially well-behaved. But now, she's set her sights on brother Bo."
Shu Yu was stunned. "You mean she's interested in Yao Bo? Does she want to become Yao Bo's concubine?"
If she's with Yao An, she could at least become a legal wife, right?
However, Kang Shi sneered, "She's not interested in becoming a concubine. She's aiming to be the legal wife. She's hoping that Yao Bo and I will divorce!"
